Rohit, 01 Jan 2018Might be software bug try hard reset and calibrate your battery.Ok I will try

AnonD-727627, 01 Jan 2018Hello, I've just received the November security patch on m... moreFirstly I would drain the battery completely. Then recharge to a 100% before any use at all. It should calibrate the battery. If No success. Backup contacts/pictures eg.. Factory reset. Restart from scratch, as if It was new. Only import pictures and contacts eg. A safety backup most likely has the error too. If the error persists it probably is a hardware problem. Most likely a bad battery. It happens. I've had LGs that suddenly crashed. I ended up having one rebuild one time and 2 batteries in less than the first year. Some apps can test if the battery actually works, but forget battery fix apps. They do nothing at best. If the battery is broke. No app can fix it. I have an app that keeps everything tidy. Everything I don't use is scrapped. Important things are on a backup elsewhere. If I don't keep things tidy, the performance drops quickly. I use an app, because one just can't overview it all. I normally clean up once a day. It helps a LOT. I've had no problems after doing it regularly. Best Regards.

Gino76, 01 Jan 2018I think I would have to agree with you here. But for o... moreLaser autofocus is better takes less than a sec to focus sadly it is not present in Moto g5/g5s plus .
Regarding camera tech bigger sensor size , bigger aperture (f1.6/f1.7 is better than f2.0 or f2.2) dual pixel is something Samsung S7 has , etc plus good Image processing system gives better results ,, there are many other factors regarding camera tech but Im not that much in cameras

Rohit, 31 Dec 2017Moto g5 plus has some sharpness and natural looking colour ... moreI think I would have to agree with you here.

But for once If we were to be technical about the camera...Am i correct in saying a smaller micron pixel, dual pixel and smaller aperture mean a camera is better "overall" in speed/performance & low light?

Is PDAF feature sufficient enough in daily photos whereas laser autofocus is good for faster moving objects & faster shots in general?

                        Hello,
I've just received the November security patch on my Moto G5 Plus in India. Has anyone elsewhere also received it? After installing it, my battery drains from 100% to 40-50% within a minute or two. However, it happens only when wifi is on. When I switch the wifi off and use data, the battery performs just fine. Is anyone else facing the same issue? I read online that November security patch gave such problems on other phones as well but couldn't find any solutions. Considering Moto (Lenovo) doesn't provide security updates regularly, what can be done?
                        Thanks

Gino76, 30 Dec 2017Ok. But would you say "generally speaking" is the G5S Plus ... moreMoto g5 plus has some sharpness and natural looking colour , good image unless u zoom in,
G5s plus colour balance is fine and depth mode/ Portrait mode , overall g5 plus leads

Rohit, 30 Dec 2017I agree with you low light performance is better on g5 plus... moreOk. But would you say "generally speaking" is the G5S Plus tend to be more "muted" or natural looking or too contrasty? Cooler tones?
Or is the G5 Plus more the "all-rounder" sharp/natural-looking, warmer tones type of phone?
Are these assessment true in many ways?

Gino76, 30 Dec 2017The G5 Plus has dual pixels (i'm not sure about your assess... moreI agree with you low light performance is better on g5 plus, on comparison I like photos taken with g5s plus as compared to g5 plus but in some scenarios g5 plus lead like low light, sharpness etc (that's why I said comes to personal preference) regarding selfies I still like g5s plus camera, g5 plus has screenflash but it doesn't work for me, If I have to choose one I will choose G5 plus for sure if moto adds portrait mode option in oreo. Regarding x4 I haven't use yet so can't say anything

Between the G5 Plus and the newer X4 which in theory (and practice) deliver a more true to life/natural looking photos, faster autofocus, faster shutter speeds, less over exposure, more resolved detail, bit warmer (not cooler) and better low light capability?

Rohit, 30 Dec 2017Moto G5 Plus has single sensor basically it will perform be... moreThe G5 Plus has dual pixels (i'm not sure about your assessment of having a "single" sensor) and a lower aperture which roughly translates to better low light photos and faster autofocus.
A newer phone doesn't necessarily mean better everything. I heard the camera on the G5S Plus is a lot warmer but to the point its somewhat unnatural contrast colours. Front selfie flash also doesn't mean better selfie photos in low light. The G5 Plus has screen flash which may also help isn't it.
And besides the G5 Plus' camera software seem more optimized perhaps because it's older but has more updates(?).
So, I ask again..if we are to look for better hardware & software optimizations, in terms of overall sharpness, clarity, natural-looking, low light performance, faster autofocus, image stabilization at 1080p 30fps (forget about 4K as not everyone has 4K TV anyway), less purple/yellow fringing, etc. which one is better?

Gino76, 29 Dec 2017I've been looking at Youtube videos like a madman comparing... moreMoto G5 Plus has single sensor basically it will perform better in low lighting while G5s plus has dual sensor better image quality and portrait mode and I think both of them has EIS support in video, regarding photos it comes to personal preference (warmer/cool)etc selfies g5s plus is better 8mp with front flash , Go for moto g5s plus for better camera performance and for low lighting photos go for g5 plus , rest if gyroscope sensor is not important for you then have a look at honor 9i camera

I've been looking at Youtube videos like a madman comparing the Moto G5 Plus with the newer Moto G5S Plus.
Is it true that the older Moto G5 Plus takes warmer photos, less overexposed background, better selfies and somewhat better stabilization due to differing hardware from the newer one and a more optimized software?
New doesn't mean better am i right?
