pistachio, 25 Nov 2017I have discovered two more additional surprises which are ... moreok,, just sayin....................LG is a much more thoughtful company. I just realized that to wake up and sleep my Moto G5 I have to button press. Now that is ok but on my old LG K10 and I think all LG's you can just doubletap the screen to go off or on,,, it's fast, immediate and you can do it while it is lying flat without even picking it up....... this is just a simple easy and best way / I mean, how many times a day do you just want to check notifications..... this constant button pressing is a hassle once having become used to the doubletap..... Lenovo should RETHINK it's ease of use.......I once swore by Motorola,, best built, sturdy and easy... but now... well... I am rethinking my choice !!

Cast; Unless you have Chromecast you Cannot cast screen.

Reboot; Nope! It's OFF or Nothing / Only Power Off

Screenshot; one way only and it takes Both hands. Press Volume down & Power till you hear the snap sound.

These aren't dealbreakers - still LG does all these without a hiccup. You could never know all this without owning and using the phone for a few days AND having spent many hours setting it up. By then it's too late to return it.....(if you wanted to)

I feel like I was fooled by Motorola / Lenovo.

I honestly feel LG is more intuitive and user friendly.

Build Quality: Phone is sturdy and feels solid in hand. Size is good and the width fits comfortably in hand for use with mostly one hand. The finishing and detail is very good.

Screen: Yes, it is the best looking screen I have ever had. This screen is and Up for me in resoluton and it shows. A pleasure to look at.

Camera: first impression is that it is Very Good. Better than my old Moto G and Much Better than my old LG K10.

The G5+ is fast and smooth / no lags anywhere..... very satisifying....

I would recommend it but for me I do have some annoyances:

You cannot modify the grid spacing on the screens / it is 4 across No Matter What.

I happen to like five and the four across gives you Big Icons and I feel like I have either a visual handicap or that it is like a kids toy. Really, this should be have customization choices.

Next: On the home screen you have a google search bar across the top and it is four wide.
That's it,,, no choice here,, you cannot move it, narrow it, delete it or change it in any way at all.
But, I think,,,, IT IS MY PHONE - NOT GOOGLES. I BOUGHT IT, PAID FOR IT AND OWN IT. Still,, no changing here....
The screen is Bright and that wide white bar SCREAMS at me and I become upset that no one at Motorola \ Lenovo thought about my Experience with this phone. This feature should be customisable.

I know now that LG is much more user friendly and very customisable all the way around compared to Motorola. A possible choice for an alternative had I known about these two above drawbacks would have been the LG Q6. The exception is that the processor in it is old and slow......BUT

the LG has a Compass and really,,, THIS MOTOROLA SHOULD HAVE A COMPASS TOO.
                  THIS IS ANOTHER DISAPPOINTMENT.

My G5+ has 2 gb ram and I thought that it had 3. I found out after I bought it and this set me back. The LG G6 has 3 so that is a benefit.....

Overall, I like this phone and I want to be fair... I can live without a compass and with 2 gb of ram but had I known this beforehand I would have kept shopping before making my final decision....

I've had mine g5 plus for six months, and I love it. It's as fast as my s7 for half the price. Only thing I don't love is no hard buttons, just digital but I understand how that would happen in they had to do cutbacks somewhere for a price like this. My opinion its the best phone for the price you can get
