SupershopperNz , 21 Sep 2018From New Zealand the Motorola MotoG6 plus has the right pri... moreI live in NZ as well. My old Moto G4Plus has a battery management issue that a new battery and factory default didn't fix. Looking at the G6 Plus but they're so darn expensive and hard to fined. Way cheaper on Amazon . Maybe use an old Nexus 4 on the meantime and wait for the G7 Plus to come out or buy a Nokia but I need dual SIM so not sure if the Nokia phones here in NZ have them.

Anonymous, 04 Dec 2018Hi, since you are aware of software and hardware architectu... moreUpdate to my previous message...
Display graphics ( Aspect ratio and resolution ) are actually governed by the GPUs of the individual SOCs. Lower the resolution, lower the power consumption and lower the heat generated. But, there is hardly more details of the GPUs of the individual SOCs. Nvidea Tegra K1 was very famous for its GPU and not for its processor. It is this GPU that should be accounted for Graphic Intensive Tasks like games, photo editing, etc. To end up, there is no capable mobile device as capable as an x86 desktop though everyone dreams of one. Let us keep on dreaming. Good Luck.

Just check the display resolution supported by Snapdragon 630 and the display resolution of G6 Plus. The higher RAM is for the firmware to support the display resolution of the device. The firmware has to reside in memory at all times for the display to function which eats a considerable portion of memory. All these problems are because of the new display aspect ratio standard 18:9. Motorola G6 Plus is a solid device with an outdated SOC which can't support its display resolution natively. Some of the SOCs that can support the display resolution of G6 Plus are Snapdragon 660, 710, 845, etc. But, in particular only the Snapdragon 710, 845, 670, 636, etc. can support the 18:9 aspect ratio effectively. We shouldn't forget the fact that all Snapdragon processors come under ARM architecture and NOT under x86 architecture. Though there are plenty of things to discuss no one cares. Good Luck.

Indians often go behind phones that has huge RAMs thats why you see OEMs increasing their RAM almost every 6 months just to play with Customer minds. I guess if they really know about computing.
The highlight of the Motorola phones have been their software optimization and to me it is the best in the Android segment. My 3 year old Droid Turbo 2 easily handles the mutlitasking even today and it just has 3 gb RAM.

On phone number 3 and it's going back as well. Loudspeaker on all 3 goes quiet after you've taken a call. Volume controls then don't work, ringer media and alarm until you've restarted phone. Also does this in safe mode. Obviously a manufacturing fault that Motorola won't admit.

I think G5 is far better than G6 series, the design was great but why must with big screen?? 5.7 inch wtf? Not everyone is comfortable with huge display screen...Note, it can damaged your eyes!! Plus with outgone processor, low ram and old USB connector and always having major hardware issues, I already started to fell this series will drop downs the Motorola reputations sales
