Anonymous, 11 Mar 2023Why watching 2k or even 4k vídeo on a 1080p screen?I don't! I'm just stating the similarities between the 930 & 695g - and their respective limitations :)

Anonymous, 10 Mar 2023I had OLED phones my whole life from original Galaxy S1, No... moreI'm glad I found your opinion about AMOLED displays being grainy, and IPS displays being sharper.
I have always used IPS displays, then switched to AMOLED in 2019. I noted the diagonal/hexagonal patterns, specially in the whites, grays, and red hues, and lack of sharpness.
Now I am going back to IPS displays, because I can not tolerate these downsides of AMOLED displays.
I am deciding between MOTO G73 and Poco X4 GT.

Anonymous, 10 Mar 2023I had OLED phones my whole life from original Galaxy S1, No... moreGlad someone else noticed this! While the colours of Samsung's AMOLED are super contrasty and beautiful, there are weird artifacts such as the clear separation between the pixels and slightly yellowish/red tinge around the edges.
Whereas on Moto IPS (comparing with G62 which has same panel as G73) these problems don't exist. While the motion blur and response is worse than AMOLED, the colours (except for dark images) are just as good and the pixels look smoothly integrated: as you said, a printed image.

Image looks much better, like a high quality printed photo. side-by-side with A72, the amoled panel looks like there is a thin gap between the pixels, image looks always graining and white is yellowish. the down side for me is the viewing angles and sunlight legibility. just hope battery life holds close to OLED panels.

A lot of the non sponsored unbiased reviews online have given the G73 mixed ratings.
The performance (& chip limitations) are equal to that of the 695G. No 4K recording, and people are having issues watching 2k/4k content on YT. Might be a bug, but whether moto will update this.. Who knows.
Overall, the performance (and gaming performance) seem a bit underwhelming. This is basically just a 695g, renamed and ever so slightly more powerful. But given the price, it's not too bad of a device. But that's about it. No frills.
I have no idea why Mediatek released this soc using the 930 name. It's very confusing, and so many people naturally assumed it would be an upgrade to the 920, i.e, more powerful.
With the 695g being over a year old - and with newer mid range SD's set to saturate the market this year, it remains to be seen where the 930 will sit.

to be absolutely fair this phone is like, $300, so I can't really complain lol but I would've liked to see an oled panel tbh. like even a 90 hz one would've been better than the ips panel used here, though ig *for an lcd* motorola could've done a lot worse here

Anonymous, 08 Mar 2023Thanks for your reports then. What's your opinion on c... moreCamera in general is behind A72. But surprisingly, G73 is better ir low light. Picture are much brighter on G73 at low light but have a lot more graining. At same condition I could read letter at distance much better on A72 than on G73.

I can confirm 256GB in Europe (available in trustworthy store), while Latin America obviously confirms 128GB. They may sell them in different regions, or both will be available later. Brownie, 08 Mar 2023So learned peoples, G73 or G82?
Replacing a G6 so I'm... moreI've got a G6 too that I'm looking to replace and considering both the g82 and g73.
g73 advantage is double the storage at 256gb Vs 128gb for the g82. The g73 also comes with Android 13 whereas the g82 comes with Android 12 and will only ever get 13.
I've read some reviews that the cameras on the g73 actually perform better than the g82.
The big difference is the IPS LCD of the g73 Vs the OLED screen on the g82.
