Checked that it has VoWifi (wifi calling) and Vo5G,
and Moto said G84 support wifi calling.
But can't make it enable in my G84 with my carrier.
With the same SIM I can use wifi call in other mobile,
    what's pity

this is design from android 13~
Some people don't like it, maybe need to move to other brand which use its own UI.

m.emami, 11 Jan 2025You are right about the inability to disable Wi-Fi, mobile ... moreGoogle already deployed that thing about how to deal with that stolen situation as you've mentioned, it also able to use others' android to locate itself.

As you said you can put phone to DND during phone lock.
well I always use it in meeting that so convenience without need of unlock,
but in your case it is not desirable.
Nothing is perfect to fit different need but just with single solution.🤷🏻‍♂️
In this case, you don't only need smartwatch, also your another android phone iphone
can also location your that G84, make siren, shutdown it or wipe it etc by Google Find my device app, or from web page, although it is in DND.

        About the quick setting buttons,
        Sony also use big buttons.
Some people like to see them all,
but some people don't like that tiny buttons with everything.
        maybe Moto not suit you.

ELECTROVIO, 16 Feb 2025You can further improve the video quality with a third-part... morenever knew i needed this in my life. PREACH 🙏

You can further improve the video quality with a third-party app called mcpro24fps, there's images and more information in the unofficial G84 Telegram https://t.me/MotoG84Custom/19833

You can max the bitrate to 500MBPS, expand the dynamic range by adjusting colour gammut settings and get lossless 192KHZ 32-Bit Float audio embedded into .MOV format over the compressed AAC.

For photos, also more information in the unofficial Telegram, BSG Version of GCAM will further improve your photos, allow you to get better contrast and HDR from a Google Pixel Camera port. Night mode for the ultrawide if Moto doesn't want to provide the option. Unfortunately the API that it relies on doesn't allow bypassing the 12.5MP binned image because Moto locks it to the stock app unless you unlock the bootloader, more information also in the unofficial Telegram.

And the phone has already received Android 14, and confirmed by Motorola will receive Android 15 at some point.

Eviltech, 10 Jan 2025I have been using G84 almost a year. I cannot disable wifi... moreYou are right about the inability to disable Wi-Fi, mobile data and location from lock screen. Of course to do this, we need to enable the setting : "Lock Network and security" in "Screen lock" section. But the ability to disable Bluetooth or put the phone in DND mode (which disables the phone's ringtone) is also not desirable at all. If your phone is stolen in a public place like a hospital or restaurant and the thief is still there, some smartwatches are able to identify the location of the phone in the very first moments of the theft by issuing a command via bluetooth to play a siren from it; or you can simply call your phone and find its location by hearing its ringtone. So the thief should not be able to disable any settings. this is possible Using the Cerberus LOCK Screen Protector software.
I think the size of the quick settings tiles is large, which prevents the user from seeing all the quick settings on one screen. Of course, as you said, this is a matter of taste and there is no single opinion on this.

I cannot disable wifi, mobile data and location when screen locked or phone locked,
Almost all Android phones already unable to disable network and location during screen locked.
Why you can disable them ?
Have you setup phone lock properly ?
If you haven't setup password or fingerprint or face unlock of course network connection and location can be disable.

The some other things such as bluetooth, NFC etc. are able to disable during screen lock,
                I think it is ok.

For the quick settings, large buttons is ok.
Some people like it, some people don't.

I bought this phone in April 2024 (9 months ago) but for some reason I didn't use it until November (2 months ago), which is exactly when the sale of Motorola products in Iran was banned for security reasons and I was lucky enough to be able to register my phone in the Iran's IMEI registration system. Thanks to its strong hardware and Android 14, this phone performs well in running common applications such as social networking apps, education, shopping, etc. I am not much of a gamer and have no experience with this phone's ability to run games. In terms of software, pure Android on this phone allows you to install any software and you can easily replace the messaging software, call management, camera, etc. with better software (my suggestions are: "Textra", "DW Contacts & Phone Dialer", "GCam"). There is a security bug on the phone's lock screen (like many other Android phones) that allows people to disable the phone's Wi-Fi, mobile data, location, and Bluetooth connections by accessing the Quick Settings menu, making it impossible for the owner to track it. You can also fix this security bug by installing "Cerberus Lock Screen Protector". The Quick Settings menu tiles are also large and inconveniently sized, and in many cases, they do not respond to touch to move to other Quick Settings menu pages. In the end, I had to use "Hiphone Launcher" to bypass this problem and use its side menu instead of the phone's original Quick Settings menu.

I bought the G84 for my wife earlier this year thinking it would get the Android 15 update. I read before I bought it, it would get 2 0S updates, but now I've learned it won't. That's pathetic, the phone was only released last year and some lower ranked phones, such as the G54 will be getting Android 15.
