      Motorola's quality control is bad .Maybe use cheaper materials for some production.
      Green line issue in screen ,were in many 2023 Gxx series devices . Warranty unfortunately not recognized that issue in most .Something about no official issue by Motorola to fix.

        Don't buy this period.!
        There is a green line issue available here right now affer some use, time to time.

        There is not a bad batch,as also happened in others too.

        Motorola please solved this hardware problem, then make new design a lot.

        Service or warranty can help any more about that..My device replaced ,but still the issue..

        Camera also had a bug in night shot. Looks like fake colors ,tone the orange color a lot .Also happened in daily shots.
        Sky at night shot is very black even with clouds. No found gcam help this.

          But I think the comparison were with other Motorola devices..
          So what about comparison Edge 50 Fusion vs G85 in you area or other G series for the price point ?

          What about new G45 with a half price ?

            Just because YOU and YOUR region don't have a good price for this phone it doesn't make sense?
            Here in MY Middle-east region and INDIAN region the phone excels at it's price range.

            Samsung A35 costs around 400 bucks compared to G85 being 200 bucks.
            How do you compare the 2? A35 has horrible low light performance, compared to G85. Galaxy A55 is amazing yes, but it also costs around 500 bucks in my region. And you think that justifies someone choosing it over the G85? Also in MY region, the G85 comes with 256gb storage and 12gb ram, whereas the A35 comes with 8gb ram and 128 gb storage. G85 also comes with a case and charger, A35 comes with NOTHING. So yeah I would prefer the G85 over the A35 or the A15 in MY region. You are entitled to choose what suits YOUR region.

                Motorola's fail ..
                The new Moto G45 is similar ,without the marketing package like OIS camera ,Amoled screen etc . It's cheaper ,half price .

                  If found similar price go buy Edge 50 fusion .
                  Better software support ,total luxury feeling, better processor included etc.

                    Device first release was for basic Indian market ,not European market .

                    This device is like the best of the worst this period compared other brands basic devices.
                    It's a very good phone for ladies or basic contract services, but it's not made for gaming or camera shots.

                    For camera , some reports mentioned use the new Sony sensor LYT-600 , but not optimized as Edge 50 Fusion by lens setup . So photo results is so so ,and bad for night shot. Maybe a proper Gcam fix lack of the camera

                    Some pros and cons mentioned ...

                    Pros : Bright, curved display ,Reliable day-to-day use, ,Good primary camera,Long battery life, quick charging

                    Cons : Bloatware ,Notification spam ,gaming performance ,Subpar ultra-wide angle camera,Lower performance in benchmark tests .

                    Conclusion G85 is not Value for money .
                    Edge 50 fusion starts from 294 euro in Germany/France for 8/256 version
                    G85 starts from 281 euro for 12/256 version .

                      magnaroader, 27 Aug 2024I don't know which phone you got, but I own this phone... moreMaybe you like your choice ...but G85 quality is no sense for the price sold in EU ,also as previous G84 witch have many bugs ,plus G85 has the same Soc power with other name. .

                      Motorola marketing looks like intends to sale this year same devices as previous ,with just with better software support . So G85 exist for sales to poor market as choice, not able buy better edge series.

                      Reports for this year Εdge series are to have some bloatware too ,maybe for software cost mentioned in forum .

                      For your opinion "Low light shots come out natural and not smudged like Samsungs A series ? " ...for your info ..

                      With last August software update ,even the cheap Samsung A15 5G the night shot is clear ,of course not same quality as upper models .

                      Finally Motorola promises software updates usually not for fixes like Samsung.
                      You can not be sure for time release , Motorola usually security updates available every 2 months ,but not for all models regular too .

                        John , 22 Aug 2024My fast review . Motorola G85 is not worth price sold .80 ... moreI don't know which phone you got, but I own this phone since two weeks and have not experienced any of your faults. No bloatware either, and zero heating issues.
                        Call reception is EXCELLENT and the phone performs as well as the middle Edge series.

                        The camera is also amazing for it's price.
                        Low light shots come out natural and not smudged like Samsungs A series.

                        Also the phone is only promised two OS updates with four years of security updates.

                        Phone lasts TWO days. And yes I game on it.

                        Only downside is the camera only recording Full HD max but I never record in 4k due to file sizes anyway.

                                    Bad quality device ,similar previous G8x .
                                    For the price sold , better go for the basic version of Motorola Edge 50 Fusion

                                        My fast review .
                                        Motorola G85 is not worth price sold .80 euro less ,maybe is fair price .
                                        Motorola continue since 2022 to make cheap quality G series to promote Edge series.

                                        Some points for G85

                                        -Plastic feeling and quality but with good handle .
                                        Eco leather or feeling, is just marketing compared to Εdge 50 Fusion .

                                        -Screen in G85 has very good colors and shape ,but in direct sunlight looks like as yellow .

                                        -The Soc practical is SD 695 with other name, in every day use.Not for many tasks same time.

                                        -About the promise of 4 years security updates and 3 Android versions .Not sure for the number of Android versions and the effective in powerless soc , but for security updates EU push all brands sold EU, for mobile phones life cycle extend.

                                        -Motorola maybe for the software cost above ,now start use bloadware !.
                                        Apps like Block Blast, Carrom Disc Pool, Doll Dress Up: Sweet Girl , with an option to deselect some unwanted apps during setup , if doing fast. No sure after.

                                        Maybe depends on market ,also comes with Adobe Scan, Booking.com, Weather with ads ,Opera Browser, TikTok, LinkedIn. Not option to uninstall ,

                                        -G85 have bad signal reception and bad voice calling .Maybe fix with next software update and maybe depends on some mobile carrier . Home powerless wifi reception too .

                                        -Still bad stock camera setup ,similar than previous Motorola G82-G84 .
                                        Night shot is with an orange color cloud most in buildings.Also not true night sky color. Maybe fix with Gcam in G85 ,than previous models g82/G84 , Gcam did not help except daylight shots.

                                        -Device is heating with internet connection and web services .

                                        -Battery last less than 1 day with usually daily full use to come 20% charge.
