Internal storage is 16 GB but we got 12.79
Out of 12.79 GB I used 3 GB for my data and half GB for default ( whatsapp,android,..)
I check total space in ex file explorer it shows 3.5 GB that means remaining 12.8-3.5= 9.3 GB is free
But in settings storage it shows only 5.5 GB is free

ram, 08 May 2015l want to purchase this phone plz suggest me. I will suggest you to buy this smartphone because its very good at this price bracket. Before purchasing moto g2 i was also confused whether to buy it or not? .....whether it will be a good smartphone or not? ...and then i finally ordered it. When i got this smartphone in my hand i felt so good. I also compared this smartphone with my friend 's sony, htc, samsung etc....but in terms of performance at this price range it was good among all. Camera is also good for decent pics. Moto g2 does not heats up but gets warm sometimes when used heavily....and battery performance is also not that great but i m sure that motorola will try to fix these issues in the next update.So if you want stock android experience and timely updates....i will definitely suggest you to buy this..... :D

If your phone always receive software updates, that mean there are many bugs need to be fixed.

Guys I'm using moto g 2014 that came with lollipop out of the box, trust me except battery it's really really awesome handset, lighter than grand prime, same size display but smaller in size because it doesn't have much extra useless body, black one looks really premium handset, my room mate is having grand prime & I was really not happy with it when I used it, doesn't support hd gaming, just battery life is good except that grand prime worths nothing.

Did you get a single update from samsung or they just forgot after manufacturing the handset? Android 5.1 is about to release and they samsung has not announced dates of lollipop update yet. I think they will do it soon after the arrival of android M.

If you really feel like 5 GB internal memory is enough for you without an HD display that cant play high end games smooth and lacks basic sensors like ambient light sensor. But seriously gives a better battery backup.

Then you don't need to switch off the WiFi and data connection, close all the background running applications during night time.

After when it gets installed, go to menu - widgets - and find 4x2 widget of battery doctor in widget menu. Place it on home screen by tapping and holding the widget.
Now there's a silver switch on this widget at right top corner. Press it 3-4 times before going to sleep.
If it still doesnt helps the for sire ypu havr some apps which are running in the background and need to be disabled.
