Everyone saying it is the same as the Moto G 2 need to learn a bit more about technology. Look at the damn specs:
G2 Processor: Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7
G3 Processor: Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53
Notice how these have DIFFERENT PROCESSOR MODELS AND CLOCK RATES?
G2 Primary Camera: 8 megapixels
G3 Primary Camera: 13 megapixels
These speak for themselves, big difference.
G2 Random Access Memory: 1 gb only
G3 Random Acess Memory: 1 or 2 gbs
The G3 also has 4G LTE, the G2 does not.
G2 Battery: 2070mAh
G3 Battery: 2470mAh
Once again, big difference.
So before saying they have the same specs, do the research. Thanks.

I am using Moto G3 from 5th of August.
who said it lags....
I never experienced any lagging on it, it is too smooth actually. I rarely close all Apps completely these days.... still its smooth(switching between Apps looks great).
Heating.....
Device gets heating little bit when I used under heavy sun light....!!!
Original Android feel that's what I liked the most. But misses my Cyanogenmod.

I have had the Moto G 3rd gen for a few days. I am pleased with the overall experience. I like that it is water resistant and I don't have to worry about opening and closing a charging cover. The speed is fast as it is running vanilla android with no bloat ware and has 2GB of RAM. It does not have a 800 series processor or 3GB of RAM like the oneplus one or the LG G3, but I don't really see a need for that. What does the average user need with all that processing power anyway? Unless you wanna stay on the cutting edge of mobile gaming I don't see the point. I would recommend the phone for most people. The camera works quite well, navigation through the OS is fluid, and the motion gestures that offer short cuts for the camera and flash light are a nice touch. I was worried they would trigger while in my pocket but that has not been the case so far. I am in the IT industry and I love technology. It is easy for me to get carried away with specs. However, I realized I don't need to stay on the cutting edge because I am really performing the same tasks from phone to phone such as email, text, calls, light gaming, pictures, web surfing and GPS. If that's all you do the Moto G 3rd gen as all you need and more.
