USA uses 2 GSM bands and India other 2. many triband phones also bought in USA would work in India. However if you are purchasing the phone in USA under contract then it will be locked - you need to take care of unlocking.

If i buy moto 4g from USA, it is available on motorola.com (USA website), but for USA gsm, will that phone work in india on indian sim card?
