Good basic phone. Got a ebay refurbished one with a 1 year warranty for $85. Upgraded it to Android 11.

I have a samsung s20+ and I got my young daughter the moto g play 2021 as a starter phone. After set up, I am seriously jealous of my daughter's phone. It is slightly larger than mine and according to the videos on the internet can survive 30 min in a tub of water just like mine, and is scratch proof. Just to be safe I put a $9 glass protector on her phone. All in all, she has almost the same phone I have at 1/8 th of the price.

I have a pixel 5A and I got this as a backup phone. Anyone who says this phone is slow is an idiot. This phone is equally as fast as my pixel 5A, for browsing the internet, watching YouTube videos, and using GPS. Anyone who thinks you need to spend $1,000 to do those things is pea brain. If you're trying to play a game that's probably not a good idea on this phone, but if you're just trying to do general browsing and phone stuff this is beyond enough. I have no lag with this phone, however it does have a very annoying sound effect when you power it up for the first time that I cannot seem to disable

Please anyone I'm telling you right here right now that don't ever buy this phone. The application is too slow, apps always not responding, games are dropping fps, not good for chat and messaging people. When you open the messenger app it will take you too long and it will sayd at the end is Not responding. You'll regret if you buy this piece of garbage phone

don't ever buy this garbage phone because it is so slow when opening a appliciation.. i can't even use this phone properly because it is so lag at buggy i regret for buying this phone

Good phone better screen and a better battery than my old cricket vision 3 Camara isn't perfect but a lot better than old phone and can run high powered games with little to no issue at all speakers are really good and it has a fingerprint reader compared to my old phone

I work in a fast track cellular repair centre and Motorola is one of the more reliable phones, oh and definitely a lot stronger than other brands. We hardly ever do screen/glass replacements on them unlike some brands that start with an H

I had this phone and it waas the most annoying pile of junk i ever had. From day one it was poorly made. Nothing aout it worked like i would hope for. I've never cursed something so mcuh in all my life. And i have vowed to stay away from Moto again. Moto guys were shocked and had no replied hwen i voice my opnions after failing to get any help from them. I still cuss Motorola. I went to a Xiaomi 8 and it was awesome until my carrier told me it wouldn't work with 5G. I was otld hwen i bought the phone in Nov 2020 that the 4g would work with 5G.. No not compatible with 5g.. now i must find another phone, damnit.

I was given this phone for free and I like pretty much everything other than the camera. The camera is disappointing. Probably 1/3 of the shots come out very blurry. It doesn't focus well. I haven't experimented with settings yet, but so far it's hard to take good picture. Image stabilization on videos is bad too.

Forgot to mention in my last post, but Walmart has the AT&T branded one on sale for $45 and Target has it for $49. I think they both have the Cricket version for $49.
Remember that Walmart has a 2 year service plan that even covers user damage, all for $11. It can even be purchased after the fact from within your Walmart.com account.

Activation is not needed, the phone will basically just turn on, it will not force you into doing anything. All features visible and available with the exception of making phone calls.
Afterward first booting up, i went into apps to disable some, uninstall others, and disable notifications. From there i went into the other settings like privacy etc etc.
There were virtually no nagging messages either (activation etc), it simply runs as a very good specced tablet.
