Updated it to Android 14 about 2 days Ago, Didn't expect The Android 14. I Wish The Moto G Play 2024 Had The 5G Version But It is a good phone

Scott Dunn, 05 Jun 2024Will this phone get android 14Motorola software update Android 14 is here! Experience the new Android! Funny that, all this talk about Android 14 updates and I get a notification to update my Moto G play 2024 not even an hour ago at 7:00 p.m. on 9/26/2024! Weird! Sometimes I wonder!

MO, 19 Sep 2024Does it work (well) with drone apps, to be used as a display?Big screen but no big bits, probably not what you want for piloting a drone outside...

        Idk about drone apps though.

4gb I really worry for android now. Add virtual memory is prone to crash.

Other than that looks great, sure for the price don't expect but perf should be quite smooth for basic messenging apps, Brower... Also battery last certainly long LCD+old proc ( old where less hungry than those recent heavey GPU+many p cores )

Also 500 nits but well for the few very sunny days I'd use my phone outside and direct sun that's ok. Also I prefer LCD, no one talk about that but x.LED really give eye fatigue, even the poled, who could deny that...

Pan boi, 25 Jul 2024I dont see why anyone would take this over à samsung a15 4g... moreYou said it. Where you live. Here its 49.88 and honestly its a bang for your buck situation. 4gb ram upto 6gb using 2gb as virtual. And hdr10 display without the need of the super AMOLED which is famous on burn in. Dolby atmos with dual speakers. This is a bargain over a15 4G IMO. For me its fast and responsive and just what i was looking for over my old stylus 5g 2023 that broked.

I dont see why anyone would take this over à samsung a15 4g, like it has nothing the a15 doesn't have and the price is pretty close, at least where I live

It's really hard to find a budget upgrade for the Moto G Power 2020, and this 2024 phone ain't it.

If you use the basic functionality of a phone for texting, phone calls, browsing the web, and if you have a little bit of patience then this phone will be a great option for the price. It has a great battery life and will last you a full day or two, depending on usage.
However, being an economical phone, you will notice lags when you update apps, launch an app and take pictures. If you like taking pictures, then I can't recommend this phone. The picture quality is terrible and the camera app slows down the phone.

Anonymous, 30 Jan 2024It may be enough for you but most phones are 128gb+ now and... moreWell a lot of people don't take their phones to bed with them and could care less about 128gb storage or don't care about nft or wireless charging either. This phone is obviously not good enough for you.
Why are you even commenting about it.There are people that are perfectly happy with this configuration so let them decide.without your snobby comments. How juvenile. geez

The spec has hardly changed since the Moto G9 Play and that was 4 years ago!

Dark GT, 28 Feb 2024Motorola is notorious for their slow and bad software suppo... morei cant argue about the stock software experience since i haven't owned a motorola smartphone in a bit, but something that completely separates their devices for me at least is their history of allowing bootloader unlocks and releasing device sources. this means freedom for use of custom software implementations is relatively no hassle.

thetechfromheaven, 21 Feb 2024Android 13 wtf this must be a joke. I'm running Androi... moreYes, an almost 4 year old phone that at launch cost 3-4x as much as this one has more features and updates than a phone aimed at a different audience. If you got yours for 25 bucks, that's cool, but comparing actual prices puts this one at a different level and audience than the one your have.

I could ask you the same thing, what might you be smoking. Officially your G9 supports Android 11 at most, so anything above that requires unofficial custom ROMs...
