AnonD-1140103, 17 Jan 2024I am probably going to get this. I was hoping to buy the G8... moreips Moto are nice if bits at least 400. I'm not into the hdr 'stunning' effect, it's ridiculous to me and my not great eyes. I have enough screen all day at work already.
ips can be unusable in direct sunlight though.
I like ips because very relaxing for eyes ( no PWM) and low power consumption. I prefer comfort. I expect this option still exist. Thanks moto for taking care of that.

I want at least... more4gb should be ok with Android 13 memory mnagement.
Just expect some lags when switching apps or tabs, time for os and older UFs to unswapp process and datas.
If it's really a 150 phone, I would buy it as a nice second phone.
Moto runs smoothly already on SD 480 so on that 680 and ips and 5k battery I expect a lot.
Then about camera, motonhas 'ever been great, preferring the smaller and cheaper omnivision. If those sensors are ok, they are well known to halo effects when little sin anywhere, in my experience at least.
I like Moro design and their 'helmo moto' ( ridiculous bit I like)
Have to ADB disable their is a lot as there a lots of 'call home' apps/'features', way to Shaddy to my taste. Mostly developed in China after all, despite the us branding.

i already own the Motorola G Play 2023... the 2024 version is going to be no different except for the look of the phone. i'll stick with the one i already own. Great Phone btw... had it since it's release and never had a problem with it... fast charging & Internet speed.

I'd say for the intended North American markets, this phone is a very good upgrade from the previous Moto G Play (2x the storage, 4 GB RAM, and 50 MP camera) It's a competitive option compared to most sub $150 USD phones in Noth America.
