Azu10157, 10 May 2024Is using 4G any slower compared to 5G? Not where I live (MENA) I've also found VoLTE calls to sound exactly the same as 5G... so I never really found 5G all that helpful.

I feel like when more devices are starting to ship with 5G, the cellular 4G bandwidth will be less congested, which could give it an unexpected benefit over 5G. (it's also known that due to the lower 4G frequencies [~6Ghz] it can travel further outside a city... making it drop less often than 5G when traveling)

I have actually found that back in 2020... 3G was faster in my area than 4G. But it was on the expense of worse ping. (I assume that is due to 3G devices becoming non-existent & I had like one of the few if not the only 3G device in my area 😂)

Let's not get into mmWave which is almost never utilized by anybody outside major US cities...

    It's not like I can properly enjoy a higher bandwidth on mobile anyway, seeing as how I'd just end up hitting my data cap faster.

      Not especially, no. I'd rather use a relatively cheap phone that allows me to unlock the bootloader and has an SD card slot than something so locked down and hostile to users, all out of fear of being evenly slightly less "secure".

They cheaped out on the chipset to give you wireless charging support. I think that's a great tradeoff, heck I would still buy this phone even if it was limited to 4G.

            95% of TWS earbuds would still work, 95% of in-car infotainment systems will continue to work, etc...

            I've actually found myself to prefer 4G over 5G because it consumes less energy & heats less. Imagine how much better your battery life could be if you limit this 4nm chip to 4G, it will be crazy good battery life.

                Only Bluetooth 5.1 in 2024? That is a shame. 😒

                BT 5.1 doesn't support LE Audio and no support for Auracast.

                Don't buy any devices which doesn't support BT 5.2 as a bare minimum.

Why ca... moreI knew the chipset was going to be the same as the 2023 one because the Consumer Cellular listing of this phone listed the phone's SoC frequency as 2.2GHz, which is the same as the 6 Gen 1. I knew this before the phone's reveal.

                        This is the most unique & disruptive midranger in the last couple of years! (Besides Phone 2a) Good job Motorola! ♥

                        It's the only midranger with a sweet balance between modern & practical-legacy features:
                        1- Stylus 2- Wireless Charging 3- microSD 4- Headphone Jack

                        All while being an 120Hz OLED with stereo speakers, 4nm Qualcomm chip & almost symmetrical bezels. (perfect for emulation & as an alternative for the S24 Ultra)

                          They could've actually cooked, adding in a Snap 7 Gen 3 or a D7200 or 8020 but got 6 Gen 1. Hope next version gets a better chip.

                                        Guessing the LCD screen part is wrong, considering that kind of power button wouldn't have a fingerprint sensor in it. Might be getting an OLED this time round.
