hi all, upon restarting the phone " recent images get deleted".

i ordered a replacement and its again the same with the new device.

now i plan to give up & look for some other good phone(i would love to keep this phone if the issue is fixed).

** even the flipkart representative denied a second replacement & advised to take refund.

moto g turbo owners please try this on your device & post your findings.

      1. click some images.
      2. verify the images in gallery.
      2. restart the phone (press & hold the power button for 2-3 minutes).
      3. now recheck the gallery.

      in my case -

      1. all the images(recent ones) disappear.
      2. a file(appearing to be a video file) is created.
      3. if you try playing the video file error message is "sorry this video cannot be played".
      4. images are not seen using file manager(es- explorer)
      https://motorola-mobility-en-xp.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_answer_detail/a_id/104945/p/30%2c6720%2c9050

      5. connecting the phone to pc and browsing the directories does not help find images.

. i talked to motorola customer support - the work around of (backup & restore - factory reset), disabling android device manager. did not work.

. talked over phone to motorola service center - advised to live the phone for 2-3 days which i wont prefer to.

You are comparing the slow snapdragon 410 with the recent flagship grade snapdragon s4 pro which was quite fast during its time. The camera in XPERIA Zr was one of the best. Battery too lasted more than your moto crap. You are comparing the near flagship speced Xperia Zr with the entry level moto g! Hmm!

30 photos - 30 min voice calls- 30 min wi fi - Data on always - GPS,wifi, location disabled it lasts from 7.30 am to 6.30 am approx

In idle mode i.e. night say from 10am to morning 7.30 am 10% is discharged

My review after using for 2 weeks (Owned an Zperia ZR for 2 years and hence comparison is with that)

Finish Look Feel - Sturdy Looks Good A wee bit Slippery

Display - Great @ this price

                            Camera
Rear - With same Mp 13 as Sony, i have to say this is far better indoor and outdoor
Front - 5Mp but grains in photo crop up if lighting isn't proper
Flash- Dual Tone is v v impressive ...Pitch Black interiors and still the photos come out
                            awesome

Processor - Lightning Fast ...3G on this is like Broadband to Dial up compared to browsing
experience in ZR...never thought processors would make a such a difference

Operation - Butter Smooth on Lollipop Itself ..Am sure it will increase with Marshmallow
No Bloatware & hence 1.2GB RAM avail vs 0.7 GB RAM of ZR
Major difference is when you try to forward a post on Whatsapp and you have
to search the contacts name...ZR would freeze, here it just lags
                            Battery - A major disappointment
Charging - 2 to 2.50 hours full charge with Fast Charger provided
Discharge - 10% during night say from 10 pm to morning 7-30 am. This is a major
NO NO. Moto G forums says 1% discharge per hour is normal. Come on man
Even my 2 year old ZR didn't discharge so much. Called Moto Helpdesk and they
say RUN IN SAFE MODE ELSE DISABLE ALL APPS..I told them it is like telling
a customer to buy a car and not use it as it will consume petrol....ANYONE ELSE
                            FACING AN ISSUE
Life - With 30 Photos, 30 minutes Wi fi, 30 minutes voice calls, data always on,
GPS OFF, Wi Fi Off, No Music, No Location it runs from 7.30 am to 6.30 pm
Sensor - No Magnetic Sensor - can't see directions. Moto how much did u save omitting
                            this. stupid management
Overall minus the battery and magnetic sensor for this price best in the segment. Had got a Asus Laser for my wife with 3000mAmp and hence know the comparison with latest models. Had got a Moto X Play and used for a week before returning as there was issue with Memory Slot. X Play Display, Front Camera and Battery Far Better. Only they cheat you by not giving Quick Charger in the box. You gotta buy for 3grand separately so Tubo with Quick Charger for 14 grand is a good bet

Even moto g heats up dude (I had a moto g 2014 before this with sd 400) if you use it for a prolonged period of time any phone will heat up.. And i don't think it's major issue.. It doesn't heat up much with the moto x 2014! Any task is like butter for this flagship piece!
