Yeah, it can't be more than 250$. Google already have the higher end covered with a 299$ phone.

Rumor is the components are older and cheaper because its going to sell for ~200$. Realistically though its not worth more than 250, as tge N4 is 299 and it has twice that performance and rest is the same.

AnonD-80553, 22 Jul 2013More cores does not not equal greater speeds. Really loo... moreExactly. It's incredible how people still think that more means better or faster. Eg, iPhone 5 has a dual core and it smashes the Galaxy S3 and its quad core in most of the benchs. Actually Moto X Phone has better results in benchmarks than Nexus 4.

Moreover, we have reached an inflection point where the number of cores or the clock speeds are close to irrelevant mainly because at a certain point you won't be able to notice better clock speeds/more cores, because the software is not able to use all the power or just because this phones have enough power to do 99% of the daily tasks (check your email, use the GPS, Whatsapp, update your Facebook, read your News Feed, Twitter and so on...) fast and fluid and the only reason to acquire a quad/octo processor is just for games or some 3D, but what's the point on playing on a machine whose battery is dying after 45 minutes of playing in the best case?

This phone is going to be one of the best of 2013 and the first of a long saga.

quad cores, 8 cores, makes no difference to a user. the real thing is the experience he gets, not benchmark scores. this is an experience centered phone in light of the approach google is now taking contrary to spec centered one

For those who accused that this phone is bad because of it doesn't have the latest spec, rumors says that Google is trying to enhance the next gen Android's optimization which could run and perform smoothly on a dual-core device (instead of requires a quad core or more) in order to lower down Android's hardware dependencies.

Although it is just a rumor, but this moto X spec seems tally with the rumor, hope it is true. Anyway, it is nice to see Motorola is back.

Nothing ground breaking, if they want to come back in the game, they must make the best phone on the market orelse there is no point.

I would prefer to have this than quadcore phones. Simple yet very wise design the thin bezel and curved back is a huge turn on for me, very compact. im not a geek so i dont need too many cores or whatsoever i just need a simple, compact and a very reliable phone like this. Hope the battery is good enough.

Many doesn't know that Google and Moto are the clear winner when comes to Android's phone in term of software wise and optimization.

Google Android OS making a new move making a OS which run smoothly on a mid or low rand phone as iphone does. In fact Moto X is an answer to iphone about that issue.

Why the X can be the winner? because Moto keep the 2Gb Ram and low the screen resolution with edge to edge 720p and optimaze the software enough to result to a very fast using experance and nice camera sensor and very fast to take picture. But base on software wise the Moto X’s “killer feature” will undoubtedly be its Google Glass -like always voice actions and all that with a friendly price for what I know but soon we will know more about the device.

Motorola could be looking to spend upwards of
$500 million to advertise the device. By comparison, Apple spent $333 million and Samsung $401 million in the US to advertise their devices, and Motorola could be looking to trump those numbers.
