I think it is a good idea the release of Moto X4 in Android One version and finaly the existance of these variants.
The consumers are free to choose whatever likes to them.
It is the same phone but the software updates will be donate directly from Google.
Personally i would like this to come with a few Moto pre installed applications because these Moto Actions are a tool for the consumer and they don't occupate Ram and Rom.
From my point of view...it shoud be necessary a variant with display 5,5 or +...with base Ram 4 gb( and that because the device status would be more vital for the new updates to come) and absolutely with battery more than 3000. Also with more sensors and BDS-gps..!!
As for the design...the present is pretty good..!!! But this is objectively from person to person.
I think we can be more in openmind mode to recept the idea of Android One generally.
The only thing to check out is the price ratio, from the simple OEM variant to the Androids One.
Finally, is the crowd that will decide what is more usefull and attractive to them.

AnonD-699228, 11 Sep 2017does anyone know if it will have a notification led ??Not likely as the G5+ doesn't. And the finger print reader is right where I would expect a light to be.

Snapdragon 660 should be used instead of 630 and with amoled display and atleast 3500 mah battery, these specs suit 400$ device. Plus always on display and bezelless display or 18:9 ratio would make this phone a best selling of moto brand

Moto x first gen was the best in my opinion. The bezel the size and the amount of sensor they cramp into moto x 1st was amazing plus the screen size just hit the sweet spot 4.7 inch was just perfect.

Wasn't the Moto X4 supposed to sport the SD660? SD 630 would be so mid tier

Since my Moto G5+ was just $200 and I'm hearing $480 for the X4 way to much. Would only go about $350.

Paul, 05 Sep 2017Among the phones you listed, one is a one and a half year o... moreBloated software is taste isuee. You can't measure this. Everyone is used or have preference for different loaders. OP services are terrbile, thats true. But P9 in my country atm is around 330 euro, s7 is 430 euro. Huawei p9 has 3 years warranty, and after year and a half no big problems reported. Don't believe moto camera would come even close to s7 or huawei. CPU of s7 and p9 is more powerful and can handle a lot more bloatware and still be faster than X4. Moto phone is great, i wanted to have it ,but for around 300 euro. For 400 is a no go for me.
I can t remember mid range smartphone to cost as much as last year high-profile device and to be succesful.

We co... moreAmong the phones you listed, one is a one and a half year old flagship phone, the others are phones with dodgy manufacturers that will provide limited user service (OP), or manufacturers with not the best track record for updates (Huawei). The latter also suffer from having a bloated OS.
These are things you cannot overlook when buying a phone.
