That's not true... there's a backlight, but it's dim in the center, and well lit in the edges. Here's an example:

this is a great fone in cheap sets. only one thing that bugs is 'no backlight'.
yes folks this smart fone has no back light so nothing to be seen in dark.

The first 3 ringtones don't seem to be hindi related.
I have a total of 7 ringtones. I use ringtone #2 which is a plain ringtone. Nothing special.
It is possible that I have hindi ringtones, but I'm not from India so I can't tell for sure.
I'll see if I can record all my ringtones with my sisters digital camera. I'll upload to youtube if I'm successful. No promises on this, ok? I'm not sure if my sisters camera can record audio.

hey compass what r the 1st 3 ringtones u have on ur phone, coz on my phone the 1st 3 tones are from some hindi movies, coz i bought this phone in india...and i never came across any phones till today which have tones like these preloaded..

As far as I know it is not possible to delete the call history. Entries will be deleted automatically. I currently have 14 entries (a mix of made and received calls).

hey compass i bought this phone from india and i seen that it has 3 ringtones from hindi movies which r pre installed and i haven't come across any phones till today which have hindi songs pre installed unless we download them, can u tell me what r the 1st 3 ringtones u have on ur cellphone ???

this fone is great for ruff use.... but i think this fone should have GPRS.... though im happy to get this fone at very cheap price in bangladesh... thaks.... :D

why don't everyone read the review on the google as every bit of info is available there and then pass the comment.
with half knowledge passing a comment makes the person look like a joker. Moto Fone F3 is just meant to be a phone. if one needs to understand, in my clear words you can take the following advantages from this phone:
1. You can make a call (local & international)
2. You can receive call (local & international)
3. You can send SMS.
4. You can receive SMS
this model is dedicated to the people who don't need any other facilities from a phone.
i hope atleast now people who are visiting this site would understand well. i am sure even if a parrot is reading this coloum would definetely understand the simplicity of this phone.

It is so crap!!!! OMG it has no features the functions are stocko, Crap all round there is no manuel big enough to explain this to me. anyone who buys it is definatly a charlie.

I haven't tried adding ringtones to this phone. The ones that came with mine are suitable enough for me.
I suggest calling your service provider and asking them the proper way to do it.
Again, the rather poor user manual does not help. I hope Motorola releases a better version of the users manual soon.
As for your screen, mine is the same (I've just checked). The screen is illuminated from the sides, so the center is darker. I believe this is normal, since it does not make the screen that harder to read.
The EPD display is not like CRT/TFT. It does not illuminate, but needs to be illuminated, hence it's darker.

hey compass i would appreciate if u can tell me whether or not if i can add some more ringtones to this phone by any other ways and in the dark, only the 2 sides of the display r bright whereas the center display is a lil bit dull, so is it normal or is my phone faulty..

Well everyone have there own opinion about this handset but people first see its price then go for its specifications. I mean in $35 what you are wanting GPRS/Conference Calling/Memory Card........!
Its just for calling & sending sms.
