This is a cool phone. Now a days carrying a cell phone is a liability to the "snatchers" (Karachi).
This is a great secondary phone. For persons interested in new technology and stuff.
The UI is not too simple, outbox is missing and hard to distinguish between dialled / recieved calls.
I think as it names says it is made with the concept of "Phone" not a "cell-phone".

j9av:
I bought it at [add 3w's].extra.com.br/interna_1.asp?category=catCelularAvulsoCLARO since I live in Brazil.
I've seen it here at local stores for the same price (R$99.00) which is something around US$46.00 ([add 3w's].xe.com/ucc/)
The battery is lasting something between 5 to 7 days. I believe this is low because where I work the signal is weak, so it drains the battery more than it should, and I'm fiddling constantly with it.
Would it last around 12 days? I think so, if left on standby/alone and in a place with a strong/decent signal.
This is my second phone. I had a Motorola C139 before for a short period of time, and the F3 is superior in matters of battery time.
And by the way, since the F3 has fewer features, if you have games and such on your chip they won't work. The F3 will ignore non-supported features, so you'll have to put the chip back on your older phone in order to access them.
Before you buy the F3 be sure that it will work in your country.
If the links above don't work e-mail me compassnet[at]gmail.com
I have more links, and I've even seen a video on the F3 (I'd have to search, but it probably was at YouTube).

Could you tell me where you bought it? I'd really appreciate it.
Also, what do you think about the battery? Does it last as much as it says? Especially, compared to other low-consumption old phones, can you see the difference?

you can set the date but after setting it you cannot view it. and if you cant view the date then whats the point of putting the date as a feature.

1. It was made of EPD display. Kinda of candidate for furture "flexible display"!
2. Besides, EPD is a bi-stable mode display with very low power consumption!
3. Maybe it looks stupid with only 2 gray levels (black & white) but it is easy for your old parents, grandparents to read such a "BiG" pixel display ! Most of them would prefer dial only operation mode instead of lots variety functions. Just go find some older ppls. to ask their opinionS

Annie:
Yes, it can vibrate.
It is meant to be just a phone, nothing more.
That is overpriced indeed. I got mine for a little more than US$40.

This phone come in a paper can type box. With its poor features should be sold in supermarkets instead of phone shops. Poor menu, hard for most people to find how it is working, BAD LCD.

I am really looking for a cool phone with NO CAMERA and NO BLUETOOTH. It is such a pain to live under restrictions but thats what I am faced with and I am sure others are as well.
Could this be the answer? I am really hoping so.

meboz: Yes, you can send SMS with this cell phone, but it will not store the messages you send. Only the ones that you get can be stored. The quantity of SMS that can be stored depends on your CHIP capacity (mine is 64KB if I'm not mistaken).
Maria: If you press "up" or "down" on the scroll button (or whatever it is called) you can adjust the volume for incoming calls and incoming SMS. While at it if you press the white arrow button (above the green button) you can activate or deactivate the vocal menu.
SMS storage capacity depends on your CHIP, since it does not store messages on the phone itself.
