I got the Q and think its pretty good. It is an excellent phone first which is what I want. I love the wireless sync since I don't have MS Exchange Server at the office.

One problem I have is that wireless sync only seems to download email from the root directory on my desktop. Is there any way to download email from the other folders on the desktop that is currently gettng skipped? I can't seem to create additional folders on the Q's email folder tree.

The New York Times technology editor had a pretty critical review of the Q. Take a look here:

Overall it seems the hardware is great, but the software is pathetic. He gives numerous examples. Read the whole thing.

For all of you who are wondering, the Motorola Q is compatible with BMW bluetooth. My 2005 BMW 325xi (no idrive) syncs perfectly with my new Q. It loads all numbers in the "contacts" list. It works even more seamlessly than with my razr.

I just read at qusers.com that Q cannot edit office docs, and it can't browse internet beyond usual wap-adjusted pages. Dissapointed

I got my q 3 days ago and recently put facade 1.1 on. Does anyone know of any skins that have been tested successfully on the q?

The phone was released May 31, 2006 as A CDMA/EVDO device offered by Verizon Wireless. I do not know if this device will be coming to GSM technologies soon.

Yeah, but... WHEN will it be available in BLACK?!?!

Engadget had a early release photo of it in black, but can't find any word on when it'll be retailed.

How do we know it's for CDMA? Because it's been in the know for over 6 months. If you pay any attention to phonescoop.com or any other phone news source then you would know. Motorola and Verizon announced that the Q will be released May 31 online and June 5 in VERIZON stores.

Talking to Motorola the CDMA will launch first with GSM hitting late 3rd quarter

I think verizon have it first and will be out in the market next week.

It's going to be CDMA on Verizon. GSM will come by the end of the year. ON Cnet.com they have Ed Zander (pres) saying the Q will be released in a couple of weeks.

I don't think this phone will out at all. It has been too long since motorola announce it and like other said, very very poor features.

i do think its a lovely machine but the design looks obsolete. though it is very slick and light for a PDA, its does lack the omph factor, MOTOROLA could try to make their products look more sturdy than fragile.

no Wifi, no Touchscreen, Poor camera, and by the time its released, i wouldnt recommend anyone to buy it, because within a year it will become obsolete. These specs are 2 years old. The I Mate Jasjar is a performer, as well as the Nokia equilavent.
