rofi, 27 Oct 2012hay leave it on gb because ics has some bugsCould you be more specific about those bugs you mention in ICS???
I'm running ICS on my RAZR MAXX and it's better than GB. The homescreen has been updated, the menus are improved with a slightly faster response and better arranged (apps and widgets are found in the same Menu), better animated effects and even the battery life seems better. My only issue so far is when I leave the music player paused for several hours, once I want to resume playing it would start over instead playing where I paused it. And it may get slow response for a couple seconds if you get running several RAM hungry apps. Not a big deal for me.

Hi. I just bought this phone for my mother. My question, is it better to leave it on GB (2.3.6), or upgrade to ICS?

She's not really tech savvy. Just needed a big enough screen to read and answer her emails, and huge battery to keep it going. Maybe occasional browsing, whatsapp, navigating and that's it.

I've been using my RAZR MAXX for the last 5 weeks and... as a former Nokia user for the last 7 years I haven't regretted my purchase: build quality is as good, premium materials, great features and a better and still fresh enough OS with tons of available apps (ICS). Still camera isn't great but still slightly better than my previous phone (C6-01 Belle)

Compared to the other smartphones I've had i.e HTC One S, Samsung GsII and iPhone 4s this Motorola is by far the superior unit. I've had thr Razr Maxx for 6 months now, and I usually buy a new one after this period, but this is just a keeper, there are NO phones out there that matches this, and I've never owned a piece this brilliant! The design, the fast UI, the materials, the smart functions and the battery - PERFECTION! Only the camera is not that good with ICS.

few things most probably useful for new users.
                  1. Do a hard reset/factory restore which solves most of the hanging related issues.
                  2. Disable 3G, wifi, GPS with the help of widgets when not in use gives extra battery life for extra calls and sms
                  3. Don't over-load the mobile with apps which uses the ram.
                  4. Any app having issue force stop the app before un-installing it.
                  5. if you want more security - active sim pin lock, phone lock, encrypt the data internal & card.
                  6. change the camera mp from 6 to 8 depending on the camera usage.
                  7. if you experience any slow process restart the phone and check the running apps for details.
                  8. pressing home button for 1 or 2 sec opens recent apps which can be closed by swiping it left of right not sure it act as task manager.

                  thx

If you haven't gotten in OTA yet, try connecting your phone to a computer where you have installed Motorola's software and check for update.

shougen, 09 Oct 2012Using the Motorola Razr Maxx for a month. One feedback is ... moreNot sure any app would help you with that, how would it guees which song to skip or not? And motion based skip/back could probably give you many false positives while running.

Bluetooth sweatproof headphones such as S10 HD or S11 Flex HD should provide you with that function. S11 just came out and has volume rocker, skip/back, play/pause, EQ and call buttons. Dual microphone and 5 adjustable parts.

There's also the MotoACTV device, which you can wrap around your arm and control from there.
