just wanted to share with you guys a horror story featuring the company itself (MOTOROLA) last November 2006, I bought a spanking brand new RAZR V3X... It was a great phone overall and Ive been only using it for the past 3 days but when I tried to access the web browser, the screen went completely crazy then went blank...I mean totally black. I tried to restart the phone hoping against all odds that it would fix the problem, but to my utter dismay, it wasnt able to fix the problem. Any self respecting guy would return it to the shop right? so, off I went, fairly confident that the store would replace the phone since I only got it like 3 days ago knowing that i was sold a lemon of a phone...but guess what,
the freakin' manager told me that they WON'T replace my phone !!! I mean, I just bought the blasted thing and I only found out about the defect when I tried to access the internet !!! They said that MOTOROLA has a warranty alright, but its only a service warranty and it doesnt cover parts that needed to be replaced. (Motorola users can check out their warranty cards to verify my claim or call customer service) I mean, who in their right minds would accept such a policy?
I bought their phone trusting that it was in perfect working condition, but they just screwed me up !!! It that Motorola's way of saying thanks for buying their product? I ended up upgrading my phone for a Nokia N73 and I think I have made the right decision. MOTOROLA as a company sucks, but i have to admit that they make some of the best phones out there, provided that its free from defects...

Why do phones like these take so long to arrive to America? It seems like the rest of the world got this phone a year ago and America is just now recieving it.

hi guys,, ive bought this mibole yesterday, the set of options r very good, new user interface z cool, although i liked the previuos 1,, my favourite ring tones r missing, the "classic" and other similar ones,,, i realized that wen a call comes, the ringer has a little interrupring sound on the beginning of it, and another little one wen u open the flip of the fone, hav u realized that too?? battery z improved than previuos ones,, sound clarity on calls z excellent, another thing that annoys, the extended menu(wen u press the arrow pointing to the right for sub menus) z not highliting the chosen item properly,, thats all for now, and i would appreciate any comments,, thnx motooooooooooooo

To slater press menu,,,settings,,,,personalise,,,,home screen,,,,,homes keys,,,icons hide/show..
The main differences between v6 and maxx is maxx has bigger resolution outer display and touch sensitive mp3 controls and flashing light display when you recieve txt or phone call etc and a 2 megapixel camera

Have been using hsdpa and a 1.33MB clip took 22 seconds to download which is 60.5 kbytes per second so to get kilobits per second multiply by 8 so 60.5 x 8 = 484 kb/second which is way off 1.8mb/s download maximum...
The clip was a news clip and the area fairly busy with people on fones but it was a one off trial ive downloaded other clips but forgot to count which was which so the above was the guestimate and was counting with my heartbeat ???
My experiance was that its pretty nippy and pages load really fast from wat ive been using for past 3 years between 3g and gprs so on the whole i find it pretty good but my experiments will continue..but on the bbc website i tried to play a newsclip and it give me 3 options of high quality download,, medium quality and so on and pressed high option and its said connecting and this went on for a while but nowt happened so concerned about what someone said earlier about streaming??? maybe it cannot stream but it shud do being a bang up to date device....I also played mp3 for 1 hr their and 1hr back,,made 10 mins of calls and 6 txts and still at full battery but that will drop soon i expect and shud also say i had it on 900/1800 gprs whilst on journey there and back..
I am not wishing to bore people but these faster connections are part of what millions have been waiting for since the poor 3g arrived and dissappointed everyone..In future wi-max may take over but all the operators have spent billions on the 3g licences and need to get their money back..once the 14 MB connection arrives and portable data communications start to impress we will all be part of it because computers is where its at and most work will be done whilst travelling or commuting,,i hope it does not fail anyway,, byee

dont forget once speeds increase anyone buying the samsung fones and other 1.8 mb/s mobiles WILL NOT be able to get the next hsdpa upgrade to 3.6 mb/s BUT if you buy the maxx v6 your future proofed for a good 3 years until the 14 mb/s comes into operation..
So for a good while the maxx will be a frontrunner not soley as a mobile but, a modem for laptop users who need speedy data downloads and coupled with good battery life its superb device..This speed really comes into its own if your in a hurry and downloading data is a must "plus" it starts to get more stable as when in bad coverage or their are a lot in one cell poorer download rates are still good as the hsdpa engine tweeks the signal so you still get a fairly decent download speed.
I have got my outside lights to rythmic display and find the control of the fone whilst shut quite manageable for fotos,mp3 playing and adjusting volume and ring levels..ON some of the message setting is says store to and i have put memory card so 2morrow my mssges shud store on the card all been well ??

This review "below link" suggests it will happily play videos up to 30 fps but as post below says it varies as needed and motos own site says it video record/playback is 15-20 frames per second..http://www.mobile-review.com/review/motorola-v6maxx-en.shtml Anyhow ive been playing thru my angry kid videos and they come out with vibrant vivid colours and bits of videos from different sources come out good,,the mp3 player is very good and the earfones do have some good dynamics and the bass can be pumped up and i was suprised because in my past motos the music side of things were not great and album arts here as well for those interested.
This is a snazzy fone does all what i need and glad i choose it over n76 which some reports are saying its only lasting 4-5 hrs non stop mp3 playback which is tripe..great mobile

have used this for 4 weeks with avengance,,it does have a good battery with 2hrs mp3 playing per day,30 mins of calls and 20 txts and backlight on level 2 iget 2 days out of it and to put that against another fone using my d900 like this would get 1 day,,also i am checking time and using callender events throughtout my working day
The camera is just ok as in the shots are not terrible but you would not say my good thats a perfect shot..The video is not bad it is fairly adaptable to what your filming and seems to have a varied frame rate from 15 to 20 fps,im using sandisk 2gb card with 1.67 gb of mp3 plus video clips recorded from my sandisk v-mate video recorder set at medium quality ,mp4 ,,qcif resolutio 15 fps and they come out great and the black on the lcd of the v6 maxx are trult black.
This is a fantastic fone and the pictures here dont do it much justice because its really slim and outside flashing lights display and mp3 touch sensitive controls finish off the fone superbly,,
There is a good calender and good connectivity and the calc is simple to use.If this unit had symbian i woul give it 9/10 but as it is 8/10

I've been using the phone a bit more, and have found it to be an absolutely brilliant phone. some other phones I have used are too loud or to soft when you take calls, but this phone has just the right loudness for you to hear the person perfectly. I recently put a 2GB microSD card in. since then I've tested both the ability of the phone to play videos and music. I am going to be testing different formats on the phone, will report back when I do. One thing that has amazed me is how efficient the battery can be used if you simply use the earphones. I have been able to watch 2 movies before losing a single bar of battery, so I believe that is quite efficient ^_^. a few things I particularly enjoy are the dependency of the touch sensitive multimedia controls on the "backlight" setting. basically, if the outer screen is lit up, the touch sensitive buttons will be. the flash was a bit of a dissapointment since it is just a setting of "light on" or "light off", not an ability to set it to actually flash. applications and games are a dream to load up and close on this phone. quickly and efficiently, the application pops up and can be used. onto the camera... the video is a little less than can be desired, with the framerate playing a major part in the quality of the video... it is very easy to get a blurred effect. video capture isn't too bad, I performed a simple coin test to evaluate the capture (flick a coin and record a video clip of it) and it showed as an orb rather than showing sides of the coin (I have seen quite a few lousy cameras that show the sides of the coin). I was quite shocked when the lights on the side flashed for the first time (I didn't realise it actually had that feature since I have a cover for it). other than that, the overall style of the phone is superb. the metal included in the phone makes it quite sound. one thing I would like to see though:
the ability to change the outside image to a different one than the inside
I think that is the only thing that I "dislike" about this phone (it isn't major). the phone doesn't have alot of ability to change some of the really small stuff. another thing would be to make a seperate function for the outside multimedia controls, the lights switch off and the touch pads seem to go inactive.
other than that, the phone is a masterpiece.

this is one of the best phones i bought and is a lot slimmer depth wise than the photos make out..i dont have any problems but i have not had chance to check out hsdpa but will soon when i travel. My first test im going to do is see if tele is any better but others sites suggest they are not going to improve framerate or resolution but i can tell if the stability is better just by looking at the screen for few minutes..There is alsp a leaflet with mine suggesting that when you go into a hsdpa zone voice calls will go to voicemail which is very interesting because whats happening that the phone cannot be interupted to recieve a call when using hsdpa ??? From wat ive learnt so far hsdpa is using somthing called extended codes and its this that makes it prone to interference and loss of signal wen moving just a few inches anyway ill find out..
Fantastic phone for anybody thinking about it and better than the v3x because its more solid in its operation,,i cant find the words to describe solid but but i think people who have come from v3x to this will know
