V6 maxx has UMTS 2100Mhz as well as UMTS 850Mhz. Cingular in the USA and Telstra in Australia both run these 850Mhz UMTS/HSDPA networks.

Hi guys comming with a small update of the phone..
The phone is great..keeping in mind that i have never used a Motorola in my life. I picked up a v3i and a v3x from a friend of mine just to compare them to the V6 Maxx...and boy the phone is out the world...the display is great..the reception is mind blowing..but i must add that a time i did here an echo dureing the call of my own voice but that hasn't happned since last night and hasent happned since then..
What came in the box ?
1. The phone (Black)
2. Battery (BZ60)
3. Usb cable
4. Motorola Phone Tooles CD
5. Ear phones (single eneded)
6. Manual
First things first the the Phones apparence is great.I was not wery happy with the V3 when it launched but then kind of grew to like it , hence the V6 maxx has landed up in my hands.
The phones software is out the world , the V3i and V3x dont even come close to the the V6 Maxx..Motorola has realy worked on the probs that they had with the v3i and v3x and totaly give for the first time something that could be the thing if you can get around the totaly different style that Motorola OS works..which is to say not bad at all...
The features are very pratical and user friendly once you get around to knowing them . The personalization is noway even close to the SE's or Nokia but its not bad either..
The audio quality i must say is not bad for a phone of this size..Noway close to the SE's but ok..the touch key are good no probs yet..
Mind you the Motorola Tools CD that comes with the phone is not updated..so after instaling it on the comp you will need to download the updateed version from the net..which i feel is a little stupid never the less that how it goes...Motorola heads up....(about nearly 40Mb)
The MMS and GPRS settings in my network need to be down loaded by following a few easy steps from the Hellomoto.com...But mind you , you will not find the V6 maxx on the list of phones there so i did try the settings for the V3x and was up and running...
I will update further once i get fingering it..
Hope you liked the review , since it my frist one...
Please forgive the english as i'am no good at it..

Iv got this phone for aprox 2 weeks now and I love it!
Some may say that it is big, hell no!
It's wider then my old v620 but damn it's thin for a 3g phone!

I just bought one today and will update you guys on how it performs in a day or two. I have tested the internet browser today using 3G and it loads up pretty quick but the browser is not as user friendly as the Nokia E60 where the little cursor moves around the screen like a mouse on the Nokia E60. Volume from the headset is not bad but could be a bit louder for noisy areas (lots in Taipei). Will see how many numbers this device can remember for dialled, called and missed calls. Reception from what I have seen in the last few hours has beeen excellent with full bars on my Motorola where other phones I have had in the same areas weren't able to do. Phone looks really good in hand.

When I edit a contact, the last option is 'private'. It is usually on 'off', but I put it on 'on' for one of my contacts, and now it has dissappeared.
Does anyone know how to get a certain playlist to play without changing it each time, rather than having most played. It plays the music on the phone, and it is annoying...
Thanks in advance.

Hi
I thought the blue lights were meant to flash when the phone was on silent and charging. I have looked at the phone setting and both the charging lights and ring lights are activated. But nothing happens. Is anyone else experiencing this problem in the silent mode and charging mode?
Cheers

To bokaboi69,
Please feel free to email me any questions.
To stylinexpat,
The speaker works great. I am not a cell phone guru like most on this site, but I do stay current with my technology, and this speaker works wonderfully. The sound quality from the earpiece is great! I was just in a very loud restaurant (Hooters) and I actually turned my earpiece volume level down because it was too loud!! Impressive, huh!!

Can someone here comment on the sound quality of the calls and the volume level for both speaker phone and the basic speaker? I tested a new K800i today by Sony Ericsson and the volume level seemed quite low even with the phone held closely to my ear.
