--drjim, how's the menu system speed compared to older motorolas? is it blazing fast and powerful? any lag when doing things from going through the phonebook to playing games and accessing the internet?

--has the interface itself seen improvement?

--how is it browsing the web if you have HSDPA coverage?

Received this phone Friday afternoon after ordering online with Orange the day before. Impressive at this time of year. This phone is fantastic. It looks far better than in the photos. It is a matt black colour with glass on the outside of the flip. Looks sort of 'stealthy' From Orange the phone is supplied with motorola handsfee stereo headphones, a small cleaning cloth, a usb cable, charging cable, motorola phone tools software disc and last but by no means least, a 512mb micro sd card. Thats pretty impressive.

The manual is surprisingly short but easy to understand.

The phone works like a dream. There are a hell of a lot of features but spare an hour or so playing with this phone and you'll be fully competent with it. I thought that video calling would not work as easily as is made out. I can tell you that making a video call involves pressing a button, selecting the number and confirming. I was talking to my friend face to face with great picture quality and sound. Its really easy.

The mp3 player function is so much better than on any other phone I have used. The external touch/heat sensitive controls really add a classy touch. The blue lines you can see on the photo above are lights which pulse or flicker when you get a call. You cannot see them or the other controls until they light up. Someone looking over your shoulder may just think 'oh, a matt black razr' when they see it do its thing it will become an object of envy. There is about 1mm difference in the size of this compared to a standard razr. To have so much tech and features crammed into it is pretty amazing.

I am very, very pleased. Any queries, am glad to help.

This phone is now available from Orange in the UK. I have just ordered one online on a contract so the phone is free. Just spoke to them on the phone to make sure they actually have them and they have over 3000 in stock. Am expecting mine for delivery tomorrow. Will give you some info when I have had a fiddle with it. Am glad I waited.

If you have a broadband account you can get your broadband and this phone free if you sign up to an 18 month contract. You will also get a wireless router and voip. To me that is a bargain.

                        !!! $800 !!!

so from your reply earlier i can assume that this 'V3maxx' is in fact a 'V6'?

poof, the price will make me have no pocket.

Had a look at the dummy phone in vodafone store near where I live. Seems almost same size as standard razr. The black rubberised finish is very nice indeed.

The Singapore market will most likely to see V6 early next year. As the trial of HSDPA is still going on, with the introduction od the SAMSUNG model.

IMO, size=build quality. I noticed that V6 is slimmer that the current V3x. Hence, i have doubt on the build quality.
I do also noticed that, the wasn't any macro slider at the camera control section. So i'm comfortable with my V3x for the time being.

V6 will not going to replace my V3x. Most possibly till the price goes down, this shall replace my other line.

The dummy for V6maxx is currently on display @ the MOTOROLA service center. Interested fellas my go take a look.
