I've had my V3 for 4 months the screen keeps going blank, ring tones changes on its own, blue tooth you can not see caller ID and the text messages take ages to come through, also the silver V3 does not have video phone when the black one does have it. Also it keeps turning itself off. I am very disapointed and I will never get a Motorola again. I wish I had found this website before

I recently purchased a Blue V3 and I'm in love with this phone. I went through the entire book and I'm conversant with all it's features. I've tested all the features and I am very satisfied. Many of us have a lot of issues with phones because we fail to read and comply with the instructions provided and misuse and abuse our phones. I intend to use my phone as it should be and look forward to enjoying my V3 for a long while to come.

You have to use software called P2K Commander. Download it here: http://www.themotoguide.com/index.php?PID=1&PGID=440. Use the link on the left column named Dowloading Modding Software. You also have to download the P2k Drivers.
It's a bit complicated, but easy once you get the hang of it. Go to this web link for a tutorial.

I've had this phone for more than a year: it has NEVER failed me, always powers on, screen's brilliant, no issues what so ever with -very- extensive use. To me this is a VERY reliable phone.

The RAZR V3 has only 5.5 MB of internal memory, but if you delete the factory-set ringtones & wallpapers... you can increase that memory by maybe, [less than] double.
I wonder why Motorola actually manufactured such a sleek phone, but with so little memory? [But hey, this isn't a MP3 player like the rest of the Motorola family.]
That's a drawback that I'd have to question.

as Derek says: "I bought my first motorola last november, I have always had Nokia's. It has spent more time in the shop than in my pocket its totally unreliable and i will never by a Motorola again. sure the styling is great and some of the features are great but its totally unreliable."
I had my first Motorola, it was only a secondhand V3. The screen brightness is low in daylight. Software is suspect. I have to stress this phone is more rugged than it looks, I'm hard on phones, hence buying secondhand phones. In all fairness it was water damage that killed it in the end, but I had had enough of it.
I've gone back to the Sharp GX30i, great phone. one of the best clamshells I have used. I have had a couple of GX10i's, one of which is still working fine.
