THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE BIGGEST PIECE OF JUNK I HAVE EVER USED!!!

I bought the RAZR V3i on December 3rd for both my husband and myself. Since then, we have had FIVE replacements. They have lasted us each about 2 weeks, and then all of the sudden we have no reception where we should have 5 bars. I have had both phones in my hands: one has 5 bars and one has none. This has been a repeated problem, and today it happened again! My husband just took them both back to the dealer and got two of the V555s. We are hoping this will be better, but I wouldn't recommend the RAZR to my worst enemy!

Also, the volume is very low, and we couldn't hear anything out of them. If you're driving in a car, the only way to hear is to have the speaker phone on holding it up to your ear!

The camera worked great... a little fuzzy... but it's not like it's a Nikon Camera.

We each use our phones more than 3,000 minutes per month for business. If you're looking at this phone for business, forget it! This phone would be okay for a lady's purse that only uses it once in awhile, but not for business! But even in the lady's purse, the reception problems we had would not be appropriate for anyone!

Good luck in your decision... and don't buy this phone!

People buy the V3 for style and elegance not really for its functions, we have two and we only use it for calling and receiving!!! No technical use at all!!!

Rahul Kapoor, you say 'Why do you think opinions from the mags are better than from the real users?'
Did you not see my other post? My mate had the V3i and tried it for a few days, he then had a play with my SE W800i and took the V3i back and got the W800i! For 'HIM' it was a better phone ie: more features that he wanted to use and better menu's!

Mike, you say 'The V3i is a much better phone than the W800i or any of the sonyeric walkman range..The phones battery is not that good'

The battery life on the W800i is amazing! I use the phone a lot during the day and when I get home at night I still have plenty of power left! I think it's booked down at standy-by 400h and talk time 9h! What's the V3 200h and 3.5h!!!
As for the Mp3 player, that is also very good (for a phone)! Both the MP3 and radio come in handy when you are on a break or taking the dog for a walk! If you are listening to music and someone calls, the music stops and you can talk to the caller, when the call has ended the music starts up again :) Obviously if you are seriously into your music you would buy a top notch Mp3 player to listen to!

We will never agree on what's the better phone of the two, as I own one and you own the other! So it may just be better to agree to disagree!?!?

My original post (wayyy down the page) was to point out that there is another non 3G phone that comes close to to the V3i for reatures...Obviously people look for different thing when buying a phone! But if you want a mobile phone with a very good built in camera, a good radio + a good Mp3 player, then you won't go far wrong with the SE :)

        The End :D

Question for those who have the v3i (and preferably who have owned the v3).

I have a black v3 - great phone let down by slow and laggy software. When you get a new text message, it doesn't appear immediately - there is a lag while the phone tries to catch up with the graphics. Is the V3i any quicker than the v3?

I hope so! Also, can the v3i's music player show albums listed or just playlists and tracks?

          Thanks!

Well, I finaly broke down and bought this phone(for a pretty good price, less than 400 Bucks,New!). I will be posting up a full review of this phone when I receive it.(I switch phones on at least a bi-monthly basis and I will be replacing my V635).

The V3i is a much better phone than the W800i or any of the sonyeric walkman range...I have The V's, yes all three. and i have 2 of the walkman phones....The WM phones are JOKES! The menu is exactly the same to the standard K608i etc...I mean besides teh stupid mp3 player, which by the way, is awful...The phones battery is not that good...My LG's are better than the damn Sonyeric's...if i may say, the only phone able to compete with the V3i will be the 'REAL APPLE PHONE' or the 'P990i' due to its abode of feature...

                @Ste & @Graham - you're not right!
Why do you think opinions from the mags are better than from the real users?! ... by the way - mags are 'silently sponsored' very often... ;-)
Actually I use N7610 but I'm waiting for SE990i... I'm not Motorola fan at all, but I've just bought one for my wife (because I thought this phone is beautifull, I was right by the way...) and wanted to give you all my feedback after 2 hours of using it...
You need a good camera - use camera not the phone, you want to listen to the music in the move - use iPod or other musical equipment, you want to be film director - use movie/video recorder, NOT the PHONE!
What do you dislike in the phone's menu? It's as simply as it should be in the phone, if you have any problems using V3i menu or think it's difficult to use - it means you should use tam-tam, not mobile. My first Motorola was Startac 500 - do you know this mobile menu? ;-)

V3i - is simply the beatifull PHONE.

I'd never been working for any mobile network, but I'm using mobiles over 10 years...

Ste, v3 is not known for its features , but for design innovation... If you are looking for features W800 or N91will do...To understand why people like V3i you have to handle it and see the elegance!

Jenina "Ste, are you really going to compare W800i with V3i ? W800i looks like a cartoon...big joke..."

Yes I am going to compare it! Read the reviews in phone mags and on phone sites!!! 'The W800 is the best phone of the year'...and they aren't my words!!! 2mp auto focus camera + you can record video, longggg battery life, FM radio with RDS, Mp3 player...the list goes on and on. So yes I would say that there is a phone that comes near the V3, which is the point I was making in my first post!!!

Obviously people are going to think that the phone they have is better than the one another person has! Like I have already said- I was pointing out that there is another phone around that has more features! :)

I have the v3 for quite a while now and its just the BEST phone I ever had. slim, great performance quality and endurance. I will buy the v3i for sure! Currently looking for a shop which has this in stock (without contract)

The V3i has a decent spec, but is already out dated. Poor camera by modern standards, very poor battery life which has not improved on the major flaw of the V3, and a poor menu system. I work for a large mobile network, and i have to say the V3 has been one of the most complained about phones. It looks good, feels good, but thats where it stops i'm afraid. They are difficult to use, and not very reliable! This may not be true for the V3i as its too early to say about reliability, however you can only judge on past models and recent ones have been far from good!

I've just bought V3i for my wife... and I have my wife's Moto with me today at work!
It's simply most beautifull phone I've ever had in my hand!
If you're looking for the PHONE - not smartphone, not PDA and you don't need 3G - this is the best piece of art you can afford.
My old N7610 looks like ugly plastic brick...
SE W800? It's even worst... Forget.
