I got this phone two days ago and I must say I"m very pleased with it. GReat call quality, mp3's are awsome, camera is 1.3mp, not bad. IT is not like the old razrs, v3 or v3i. So much better. THe menu is great. Messaging is a breeze. And 3g?!?!?! IS GREAT!

i got the v3xx as an upgrade on three from a v3x and apart from its size and form its nothing but more of the same, poor software with bugs and lacking in features.
the camera is appaling and motorola seriously need to buck their ideas up as still putting a 1.3mp camera in any handset nowadays is just daftness especially when other companies lke sony ericsson and nokia are offering 2.0mp as standard even in their budget handsets.
also with the lack of any basic photo editing (like face warp)or ringtone composer really show how far motorola have fallen behind the oppisition.
after using the v3x this feels like a step backwards especially the software as it looks like the OS that is used on the original razr as compaired to an advancement on what the v3x used.
the v3xx does have some good points like the screen which is clear, viberant and bright but the outer screen looks like motorola were just using up any old original v3 outer lcd screens as its dull and very poor also the keypad is cool with a deeper blue backlight and exellent quality feel.
overall i think motorola has dropped the ball with this handset and it will take alot to get back some diehard fans of their handsets as this is a poor offering that falls short on almost every level.
on a personal note i found it so bad that its now stuck in my wardrobe in the box as i bought a cheap sony ericsson k610i that is feature packed and very nice looking fone for not much money.

What is the address book like? Is it like the one on the original V3, where you can just put in a name and number, or more like on the V3r where you can store street addresses too?

FINALLY I've found a suitable replacement for my excellent phone from the past: a dual-band StarTac. In between I went through several phones, including most recently a black RAZR V3 that was very disappointing. I misplaced the RAZR and bought this "Dos Equis" version to replace it. I found my phone, but this one is sooo much better I won't return it.
Every gripe I had with the original RAZR has been addressed. Side buttons are now lockable. Screen is vastly improved. The way the contact list works has been vastly improved. Camera quality is better (though not really all that great... hey, it's a phone). Ability to play MP3s from a 2GB Micro SD is quite a plus. No driver is required to connect this one to a PC. Basically, attention has been paid to many details.
All that is minor stuff because -- and I can't emphasize this enough -- it works *very* well as a phone.

I have a Blue Envelope Icon on my screen next to the "Ring Style" Icon. What does this denote and how can I access it? I've been through all my booklets and can't see any reference to it. Thanks

If U set a ringtone A to 1 of your contact A, when contact A call or sms U, it will be the same ringtone A.

Can anyone tell me
a) if there is an eBook reader for the Motorola V3 series, or (related Question)
b) is the Motorola OS very similar to Symbian or Palm or "X" so that an ebook reader for one of those might work.
Nice phone, I just want my eBooks back. Please email me.
