Hi my husband bought this phone it’s a Z8 Motorola and I am having a problem with it fall down a couple time the problem is that if I get a call on the phone and I try to slide it up the phone turn off just like that and if I don’t slide it up to answer the call it will not turn off what u think is wrong with the phone

The other problems am having with the phone is that the zoom only works with the camcorder and not with the actual camera. I think the Z8 it a waste of money and I wish I had never bought it, plus the interface is very slow.

Some of you are full of crap. How dare you blame Symbian for MOTOs terrible implementation of it in the Z8!
Symbian is a fantastic OS with many Open Source apps, and the upcoming Symbian Foundation OS will be open source as well. The Z8 is just a reflection of what happens when you give a great OS to a company that has NO CLUE of what it's doing.
On top of that MOTO chose Symbian UIQ which is lacking developers, they should have chosen NOKIA's Symbian S60 which is booming with thousands of apps,games and modds!
Lets hope Moto have learnt their lesson. The Z8 is a failure, even in looks. I can comfortably say my N81 mid-range Smartphone is better than both Z8 and Z10 lol.

Milly., 13 Aug 2008does anyone know how you save media files? i'm having a pro... moredont save them in a playlist if you have a memory card save it to that all my msic from bluetooth works fine you have to put the songs from the card or your harddrive into the playlist or it wot wor correctly also if you move files int different folders you will have re do the playlist cus the phone is lookin in the file it was put in the playlist from

hello.i used to say that i had no problems with my z8 for about 8 month but when it fall from me and the screen was broken it started to mess up.it doesnt charge or play music cant instal games or applications.just i want to say the z8 now sucks but motorola make niceGadgets dont say moto is bad because they made these z8Nokia many times failedInTherePhones and no one said that they are bad

Just wish there is a "non-Symbian" version of Z8...either Windows Mobile, or Linux...or "none"! (I don't mind phones don't get so "smart"!)

I'm probably one of the... moremotorola is claiming that this phone can take upto 32gb micro sd card (we have brochures here for proof).
anyway, the symbian is a total cr*p! i have this CORE PLAYER (can play almost any video and audio formats) BUT when you use it on this phone and play music, the songs will continue skipping so long as the battery signal is changing! what the f*** is that?!
so stupid!
the icons can't be rearranged! this phone has so many flaws!!!
the physical appearance is 10 out of 10
but the user-friendliness and features is 1 out of 10.
you can't even view pics higher than 2megapixel! try sending a picture from, let's say, an N95 or even just a k800. you can't view it (this is the problem of motorola in ALL THEIR PHONES!). if you don't have a 3rd party app, there's no possibility to view it!

I'm probably one of the most die-hard Moto fan around, as I've owned "no other brand" phone except Moto, and I've used over 39 Moto phones in the past 16 years.
Z8 is really one of the WORST Moto phones I've owned, especially given the fact it should be a top of the line model for the company.
Unfortunately, for such "super smartphone", it simply outsmart the owner....as I can't even make basic customization of navigation keys, re-arranging the icons, wallpaper gets cut-off at the bottom, no screensaver, etc...
And somehow I can't even play music on this phone! Not to mention I spent near US$60 for a 8GB card, only to find Z8 doesn't support it as well as my U9 (the latter "officially" only accepts 4GB), and I've to settle with a 4GB card in my Z8 now.
Maybe I'm the stupid one here who has the phone "outsmart" me.

I got mine in February 2008 by winning a contest.
In therms of design and "touch and feel", is the best phone i ever had: liked very much its size, its shape and the way it fits in hand.
The screen is amazing and bright.
In terms of signal reception is good.
But this phone wat the worse phone in my life in terms of reliability...
Three months after using the phone, when i turn on the phone, it started to have a reeboot loop over periods from two to five minutes, whith several colour "screens of death".
Today, i noticed that the phone turns off by itself.
It´s very frustrating to have a phonelike this: beautiful but almost useless.
Its a pity that Motorola is killing herself with such faliures. I was lucky by the fact that i didn't pay a thing by my Z8...
I had to buy a more reliable phone to replace the Z8. And it isn't a Nokia...
I've bought a Samsung I450.

does anyone know how you save media files? i'm having a problem with that! all the music i recieve through bluetooth goes to messages, then when i try to move it into my media playlists they don't work :S anyone help?
