I've seen this phone at 3GMS and the movie they played was like watching HDTV. Texting was no issue, you dont even notice the bend when typing. Really functional phone, have been looking for something to replace my Nokia. This is one Motorola I wont pass up! And with HSDPA 3.6 and flate rate internet goodbye DSL. :)

I work in a mobile testing facility and have been working on this mobile phone for a few days now. The mobile phone is rather good and the earlier software builds for this mobile are really stable. The games have EXCELLENT graphics (playstation/ps2) and (Dont quote me) but the mobile comes with a huge memory card (+1Gb). Excellent phone! can't wait for it to be released.

Texting shouldn't be that hard. I think it will be just as easy as texting with clamshell phone. It only bend a little.

Just wanted to say that Nokia wasnt the first to come up with the banana idea. Yet another first from Moto a long time ago. :)

Is this the phone they are going to roll out the downloadable movies services with??? This phone seems to fit the bill. But seriously, who would want to want movies on a phone??? i'll rather get youtube or google video on a phone...most of it are low res videos anyway on youtube...motorola movie service, i think is gonna fall on its face flat...

Actually, out out of honesty QVGA is NOT better the CIF. CIF has a more crisper video experience; VHS Quality at (352x288) as opposed to the QVGA's (320x240). I would have been most satisfied if Motorola would have embedded, at minimal, CIF quality video at 30fps, buy hey, we can't can't always get what we want, right?

To Jeremy:
Thanks for the info, i was worried that was gonna be the answer :(
I believe the Z8 is packing the same graphics hardware as our friend the N95, yet doesn't provide the same performance i.e. VGA at 30fps.
Its a real shame cos SE W900 conquered QVGA @ 30fps over 2 years ago, so I can't understand why Motorola would be so proud of such an accomplishment!
Nice screen though, 16M proper true-colour TV like output bad-ass :)
As for it being better than CIF, thats debatable:
CIF is 352x240 normally in Mp4 format, whereas QVGA is 320x240 in 3gp format.
Mp4 is more refined but is normally recorded at 15fps. 3gp is more blocky but you get a better framerate!
So, you're correct, QVGA is better. I guess its just "One man's trophy wife, is another man's trailer trash!" haha ;)
Cheers again for the info, mate!
