I'm using Moto RAZR. Its cool. But I think ROKR E1 would definitely cut down on what you need to carry around.

just to back up the fact that i think Moto and Apple SUK in this instance is because the phone is absolutly rubbish.... Ok maybe put it in a 3g version of the v3 with a 2 mpixel camera now that would impress.... I have a 6680 that blows most phones out of the sky at the minute. I used to sell mobiles for CPW and the fact that moto aint changed there menu system from the v500 is really sad..thats what let the v3 down too... Pity moto aint got something original

      MARKETING: Vodafone has the advantage.
      ---------------------------------------

After reading the article it doesn't surprise me that this phone is a let-down. After all, the specs are average and the name and "reputation" where supposed to drive this model...which isn't happening. But it's like everything else, even in the mobile business.
Why wasn't the W800 released simultaneously with the K750i...it's all about business and marketing.

The ROKR has too many good intentions blocking its success. Vodafone on the other hand has successfully bridged some of these obsticles with their 3G Network and Sony, that Apple and iTunes don't want to/ cannot cross.

Both Vodafone and Sony are collaborating as a music business and through that can provide the Chakuta Music Download. Full MP3/ACC+ tracks for a few dollars that you can set as ring-tones and that, different from Apple/iTunes, are provided by the Network Provider and Sony.
Apple and Motorola are both big players, but have a third player that is in the way when it comes to ring-tones & profit: The network provider.

In the first two months of Chakuta's release in Japan, millions of songs were sold and though they are exclusive to the 3G Markets in Europe and Japan (and soon Asia-Pacific) they fulfill these objectives:

      - Full tracks that can be set as Ringtones
      - Downloadable to the phone straight off the net via WCDMA (UMTS)
      - Can be transferred to SD-Cards and hence are portable. Expandable memory to up to 4GB (SD, miniSD).
      - Exclusive, cutting-edge, mobile technology provided by Sharp, Toshiba & Sanyo.

And if you have ever owned a Sharp or Toshiba 3G handset, then you won't find too many differences in music-quality to Apple. They are just mp3 players after all.

I LOVE MOTOROLA SO MUCH! They keep coming out with crappy hp to make them look stupid! Is Motorola too poor to employ better designers and engineers? Wait, I got it now, the CEO designs and develop the hp himself. :D
All the employees at Nokia/Sony Ericsson/Samsung etc will be having a laugh now till X'mas and beyond by yet another self-pwned
antics Motorola. Motorola must be trying very hard to get out of the cellphone business!

this is just an enhanced version of E398, with Transflash and iTunes throw in, nothing special abt it. it only makes u wonder why it took so long for motorola to launch this hp with such little improvement. could it be becos of the buggy s/w which need testing, testing and more testing? lol

the camera is way beyond the standart. Moto should give this gadget 1.3 Mp camera at least

Gosh.. this phone cant even compete with W550 sound quality good thats all it GOT! Wat a person wan is new design, better features, at LEAST a 1.3mp camera to even compete with the other phones! k750 already is better than this , dun even need to use w800 to compare with this phone man..

                              Motorola iRock/ROKR E1/E398 with iTunes

                              Review

This device puts the power of music to go, but note that
this phone shows no significant differences between E398, but
                              the obvious software embedded, iTunes.
This phone is NOT an iPod, but has Music track lists similar,
                              to and iPod, and iTunes.

An iPod has about approximately 200mhz, to power up the mini-
hard drive, and the output sound. Though, this runs on about
approximately, under 100mhz, that is enough to produce, basic
PDA functions, cellular use, and minor Music output.

                              Pros:

Portable, like an iPod, sound quality is unbelievable, 3D Stereo
                              output (Speaker Phone)
PDA functions, and serves as a Phone.
                              iTunes, embedded.

                              Cons:
Sound, vanishes in crowded places (via headphones only)
accepts TransFlash, that only goes up to 512MB
                              VGA Camera.

                              Personal, critic, rating (s)

                              6.6 out of 10

paul, because microSD only has 512MB out. I'm pretty sure when 1GB is out, it should be able to support it.

firt of all,the design is just the same as E398,so there is nothing new in the design, its not interesting anymore! the second thing is why did they leave the camera the same, its still VGA,all they added is video and itunes and more colors to the screen!!!!!!

i expected more from motorola, like some inovations and some new designs!!
its not like its a bad phone,it looks nice and all,but it just can't compete with SE K750,or W800! it just can't!!
