It has java MIDP2.0 so JAR applications should work though. SIS files are meant for Symbian Phone it It shouldn't work because its not running on symbian Operating system.

I have been using this phone for 2 months now. Although there are some software bugs it is a pretty solid phone. I used nokia n80 for couple weeks and e60 for a month but I prepfere moto rokr e6 to those phones. It looks very nice and feels very good in your hand. Making a call coulds be easier as you need to press multiple buttons to get it make a call. Alarm is a big problem as once you touch somewhere else on the screen other than dismiss or snooze, it is a hack of an issue to find how to stop the alarm. I usually end up turning off the pone and turning it on again. Although there are many updates availbale like EDGE enabled, Quad band enabled, Iphone tema, gbds emulator it takes some elevtrnics knowledge to get them activated. Also the html viewing is limited as you can not save the zoom level or use the screen in landscape mode. Overall it has its own issues but not any more than nokia phones. Especially the looks is alot better than what nokie provides right now.

As an owner of the E6, I've seen both the pros and cons of this phone.
Features:
+ 7 hour battery life (better than Moto A1200)
+ Snappy interface
+ Supports Java (so application list isn't that small)
+ handwriting, virtual keyboard, for english and chinese
+ 2gb SD cards (its cheap these days)
+ Size of phone
+/- 2mp camera but inferior to Sony
+/- All the cool features like quadband, edge, and themes require hacking. For me, I love how the phone has edge.
- Realplayer is a terrible eyesore. Works fine but its ugly and not comparable to Sony's walkman interface
- Menu system not customizable (i.e. cannot sort applications by name, uninstall applications off SD card, Cannot change application names, Cannot change application icons, Cannot change Application folders)

Can someone help me?? recently dropped my phone in the water. I can turn it on and I am able to use all the function witout my SIM card. Once I insert the SIM card, the phone will retart itself over and over again once it starts to search for the network. Is there a way to fix it? or do I have to send it back to Motorola to get it fix? Please help!! Thanks in advance!

Company says it is a PDA. PDA means you can install several applications on phone. But it is based on Linux OS. & there are a very few application(only 2-3) available based on Linux. So i don't agree we could use it as a PDA. Even i don't think its a Smart Phone untill application compatible to Linux present in market.

for those who are deciding between the w830 and the e6:
w830
plus:has light & better video quality as well as mp4 playback, the audio quality is superb and on top of that the mega bass!, will communicate every which way through bluetooth w/ your computer, wireless remote wireless 3g modem, item push, voice transfer, and easy sync etc.
negative:the slider feels flimsy, and has a bit of play, navigation is slow, biggest downer: expensive memory cards proprietary usb cord. more accessories to carry if you wanna stay linked on all your devices. some software will fail and have to have the phone flashed & reset the bluetooth remote is the most usual to fail right away
rokr e6:
positives: thinner and feels better in the palm picture quality and options are better, customizable and programmable OS, monster screen! SD cards=cheap memory! smart phone functions for cheap, way clearer sound quality cause of the 3mm headphone jack, you can keep as many texts as you want, right now there are over 2000 stored in my phone, regular mini USB connection, easy link to any computer, can be used as a webcam
negatives: the operating system is a bit slow although still better than the w850 & w830, no 3g although i heard you can unlock it hard to get web settings in US.
overall i love the e6 and any day i would take it over a w850, w830 or w810 i have owned all 3 and they didnt measure up to the moto rokr e6. its a good solid phone and sturdy all the accessories you need is a cover and screen protector and stick it in your pocket: no worries! The 3mm headphone jack makes it easy and portable for the media junkies with less hardware to carry, the sync is just beautiful wether as modem storage or webcam the phone is recognized right away and a PC will auto install drivers no hassles no compatibilty issues. overrall the e6 is a good cheap puppy that will give you a lot of bang for your buck many features preinstalled that are useful and practical, the sonyericssons are good extremely connective phones, although still have some kuirks and software glitches to work out. My money is on the moto
