    You'll have to do it via PC. Just make sure all your PC's software drivers are updated whatever OS you're using. Try going to www[dot]hellomoto[dot]com/update and follow through the links.

Its 100% legal, official and contain no viruses. I updated my E8 a few days back and the new firmware really seem to speedup my E8. Do it as follows. Steps are tentative and may change depending motorola's local site for your country.

        - Go to motorola's official site http://www.motorola.com/countryselector and select your country
        - GO to 'consumer/customer' section
        - Go to 'Support Section'
        - Go to 'Phone Software update'
        - Select 'Update via PC'
        - Select your phone model
        - Select your carrier
        - Download 'Motorola Update Manager' software
        - Download latest phone drivers

        Once you have the software, its really simple
        - Install drivers
        - Install Update Manager
        - Backup your files, phonebook and SMSs
        - Connect your phone to PC in 'Modem' mode
        - Update Manager will detect your phone and download updates
        - Update Manager will then update your phone, make sure not to disconnect the phone and dont turn off PC. It will take about 15 mins.

        Thats it. Your phone will be automatically restarted and ready to use with latest software installed!

            iceROKR, 15 Apr 2009can we get FirmWare updates at stores where we bought our E... moreYou can update your firmware yourself by using official motorola update service or get it updated at morotola service centers, the stores from where you buy sets does not update your firmware unless they are store cum service centers. Updating your firmware with an official firmware does not void warrenty and is highly suggested to keep your set running at its peak performance.

                can we get FirmWare updates at stores where we bought our E8's without cancelling out our warranties?

                and the site where i can download the latest most stable version of a FirmWare, the one your using right now...

                  maybe i'll just visit my local motorola service center tomorrow.

                  do you think my hardware drivers are out of date?

                  but my motorola drivers version is 3.7 already...
                  the only setting that my PC recognizes is the "memory card" setting...the media sync which i really intend to solve has a problem...it always says "Cannot Install this hardware....There was a problem installing this device: Motorola MTP Device...An error occured during installation of the device...Fatal error during installation"

                  it really bugs me in the past weeks...

                  anyone who has a better idea please post...

                  can we get a free software update at motorola service centers here in the philippines???

                  im residing at Davao City...

                      FYI Rokr E8 owners in the Philippines, a firmware update is already available for download. However you have to make sure that you're PC drivers and Service Packs are updated. I hope this helps you all out. :)

                        rye-oh, 14 Apr 2009Hi CoreSOLO, is this true? 16gig microsd cards can run i... moreHey Rye, 16GB card have been confirmed running fine on unlocked stock firmware, cant say about t-mobile or rogers. Modding is not needed to use 16GB, but you should keep your stock firmware updated using official motorola software update service.

                        My personal take would be to wait for some time. A 16GB card is about 3 times the price of a 8GB card in my area and the main problem is that current 16GB cards are only class 2 while you can easily get class 4 or class 6 cards in 4GB or 8GB. Speed comes very handy in such high capacity cards. I would to for a good 8GB card and wait for 16GB to step up in terms of speed and fall in terms of price, you know a few month down the line and they will be available at 8GB prices ;-) But anyways if all you need is more space, then there is nothing better than a 16GB card.

                                BTW, the folders I want to delete are not seen on the PC whenever I connect my phone. That's why I want to try to reformat the removable storage (my phone). Weird...

I wanted to reformat it because there are two folders I can't erase. It says that there are file errors that's why it can't be deleted. Oh well. I guess I'll just have Motorola people look into it. Thanks anyway, man.
