When I tested the E8, the music volume from external back speaker sounded really loud, would say slightly louder than my V8, and slightly clearer too. Considering I can only adjust Spatial Width & Bass Boost on V8 while E8 has a built in equalizer, I believe the sound quality refinement is up to your adjustment for the better. At home, in one enclosed area of about 700 square feet, my V8's music volume is loud enough (and I'm not talking about barely) so you could imagine E8's volume. I can't imagine having phone volume getting louder than this as a bigger speaker should be installed making the phone bigger or else the the sound quality would get cracky. That's why there are gadgets like portable bluetooth speaker for handphone use - louder music volume and quality.
My wife's SE K750i (consider old model) produces really clear and good quality sound at low to mid volume but at it's loudest volume, I noticed the treble's too high, a little discomfort to the ear. So I accepted the fact that overall, at present, the technology is not up to a level where a small speaker can produce sound quality that matches Sonic Gear, Altec Lansing or so on.
Summary: The sound quality difference between E8 and other top music phone models are probably marginal. But at this price point, with the Morphing keypad, FastScroll Wheel, Linux OS, I believe E8's a good buy and value for money.

Feature to feature comparison between N95 and E8 is not fair because they are in different categories. We definitely can't buy N95 at E8's price. Doesn't mean E8's not good, it's in which targetted market segment that Motorola is deciding to position E8, I feel it's on mid-range music phone segment - it's my personal view. I feel E8's really good phone - depending on what an individual's looking for. If 3G, 5MP camera or Wifi are in your priority list for selecting your phone then E8's out. If we are hoping for an E8 with 3G, 5MP cam, Wifi then we'll have to wait or might not even happen at all, if it does happen, be prepared to fork out more dough.

2 gb internal memory is great and the "4gb card" is a lie, yes it takes 8gb and works GREAT. I love the tactile feedback from the keys too. A halfway decent moto... Doesnt beat my N95-8GB though.

hello, i've got a question to ask you pro's out here. im currently using the se w850i. i've been using it for almost two yrs now. and when i saw motorola's rokr e8. i was stunned cause it looks really fantastic and all. plus with the modeshift, fastscroll, 2gb internal memory with upgradable memory up to 8gbs!. so just wanna ask u guys whether i should change to the e8. i herad the messaging is confusing compared to the se phones. but it seems good so help give opinions will u ? thanks , really appereciate it.

Before proceeding further, I must say that I'm trying to be fair and don't mean to offend anyone here.
It's good to get as much as possible on E8's feedback from various users here but the final decision is yours eventually. Bearing in mind that every individual has their own judgement and different level of tastes in terms of sound and music. You know, some like heavier bass, some like mid-range and some like higher treble. I've tried the E8 at a retail store and the sound quality is definitely good. Just how good is it when compare to SE W910? Only you'll tell base on your own analysis & judgement. After the test, I actually felt that the E8's sound quality did beat SOME of the SE models but didn't get to test it against W910. My suggestion to you is to try the actual unit at any retail store then analyze it yourself base on your own taste. Don't be surprise that maybe you'll find E8's sound quality better than W910 but some others will disagree with you.
Again I'm just trying to be fair and meant no offense here.

This site really gave me the feeling that at least 95% of all E8 users are different - good people. Is it because of Motorola's frequency? Ha, ha, ha. Cheers to all of you!!
