MdN, 04 Aug 2009I can agree with that. The specs are "average", we can all ... moreIs strange how many people look at almost any new must be "top of the line", and when a phone lacks this and that features, these people start to complain.

And these people most likely don't even have a clue as to how much does the phone (Zn50 in this case) cost.

If a phone with average spec costs US$400 (for example, as I've no idea about how much Zn50 would cost either), would it be fair to compare with another phone costing US$500 or US$600, then start to complain about Zn50 lacks this and that?

These people don't even know how to compare apples with apples, rather they seem to like comparing apples with water melons...

David, 03 Aug 2009I am not saying this a crap phone, hell i used the Moto Raz... moreI can agree with that. The specs are "average", we can all see that, but for normal usage they are enough. 3MP is fine with me, my monitor is still 1MP and I can aim. I've seen too many people with classy phones who can't tell you whether their phone has MMS or not, or adjust camera settings, or use their phone cameras AT ALL, so, a smart man with this phone can outdo a stupid man with a smartphone (and by that I don't mean you, haha). Sure it's not the best, but it's not the worst either, and for people like me who have only had good experience with Motorola - I'm glad they are still trying instead of going the Siemens route, and all I'd love to have is a slightly more modern Moto with the same durability and usability.

I don't think this is supposed to be a flagship, back in January I saw images of some prototypes called Calgary, Rush, Inferno, Niagra and Rush, admittedly with Verizon written on them along with the Motorola logo, and I think they are working on better handsets as well (one of them was a qwerty/slide touchscreen and one a full touchscreen) but haven't announced them yet.

I guess everyone copies everyone. Seen the new Nokia that looks like Razr? Flat keypads and thin metal phones are everywhere as well, and instead of doing something new and setting new trends (well, they do have that - was it? - morphing Rokr keypad and round Aura display but who'd copy a round display?) they make them look like SonyE (though, who knows when they started developing this one). Look on the bright side: at least it's not another Razr and it looks fine :-) pity it's just for Korea. Now that you mention it, I might look into Windows Mobile, that's the only thing I haven't tried yet. Cheers!

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Nothing special for a 2009 phone. Too little too late, Moto, nothing innovative, new or fresh.

Obiously back in 2005, HTC was going under another name, but i think it's the best company out there making allround phones.

Windows is just an amazing open source software to have on a phone, you can virtually make a Windows mobile version of any program or app.

So i recommend HTC, except the Diamond, it's piece of unresponsive **** for the mainstream market with b-grade software.

MdN, 03 Aug 2009Man, what's your problem? I have two phones, one is a Nokia... moreI am not saying this a crap phone, hell i used the Moto Razr myself for a couple of years long time ago.

We can all se the spec list ourselves on this phone, but it's just funny how some people make comments on and write out the specsheet on an avarage phone to make it look like a Mona Lisa.

To be honest, Motorola has lost it. The only reason you can justify to make phone that thick is a high mp camera. I myself am an HTC HD user now.

I have been seeing a trend to Motos designs the last 2 years, i get this feeling somehow they keep looking or actually ripping of Sony Ericsson slider phones, and it's not the first time.

This one for example was announced just last month, 3 months after Ericsson announced it's Aino. Ericsson has set a date for release while this one really don't even exist yet.

Moto should go back to doing things their way, be innovative and pioneering, i don't know what has happened along the way, but this on has the same specsheet as a HTC phone i had in 2005.

I depends on what category you are launching the phone, if it's a normal midrange release, then the specsheet is ok, but i read that this is goin to be Motorolas flagship device, and for that category it is a really sad device and shows where Moto has been heading for years now.

David, 02 Aug 2009Lol! that was really sad. SRS WOW HD is just an app, it can... moreMan, what's your problem? I have two phones, one is a Nokia (Symbian), the other a Motorola. I like them both, for what they are, and both have good sides and bad sides, you can't say one is better. If I had to choose one, it would be a Motorola, though. It looks better, it never let me down (once I had two Nokias dying on me on the same day), went with me across a few time zones and on top of a few mountains, takes better (and faster) images, the 262k display is literally brilliant, better than any I've seen on other phones, whatever I need is here, menus are almost as good, and quick, no need to pay for things that I get in a Motorola out of the box, the sound when talking is MUCH clearer, and it feels like a phone for grown ups, not spoiled kids. Sure it's fun playing with a Symbian, and having extra features, but when it comes to use and abuse I'd choose a Motorola, and I suppose the main thing that led them to bankruptcy is the fact that most of the phones they made still work and people don't see the reason to switch to a new one. But I'd switch mine for this one. By the time an average Motorola user starts thinking of getting a new phone the others have went through 3 other phones with names like N109, Maxia or 3GT, haha. And when someone introduces HDGPS they'll all rush to get it even though they won't use it. Cheers from Croatia!

SRS WOW HD is just an app, it can be downloaded dor free from SRS website to any Windowns Mobile Phone. I had SRS WOW HD in my old HTC back in 2005, it's nothing special, it just enhances sound like an equilizer, it does not make the core quality better, for that you need a dedicated sound chip/processor. 256 K colour, we are so impressed, all other new phone has 16 million colours. A 3.5 mmm headjack, is that new? I have never heard of that on a phone before. Tv-DM tuner? First of all, nobodys uses that, people stream thousands of internet TV channels on their phones, Nokia already have a TVDM tuner in their N96 but scrapped it in new models. And now for the best gloryfying part in the sorry comment, the "Massive" 4gb memory, LOL! Don't try to desperately make the phone sound better than it really is, we are not dumb.
