It changed from the V8 to the L7 because the V series is a flip series, they didn't want any confusion. They where going to change to to the L8...meaning it would be reffered to as the "late" phone, so they changed it to the L7....true story, came out of our motorola rep's mouth! :)

As was pointed out previously, they have removed the G3 or Edge support from the earlier specs. Therefore, personally, it has no appeal for me whatsoever. I'd want a G3 for high speed data via IR or bluetooth without carrying around a brick.

Anyway, I will buy this phone!!!:) This is a coolest phone I ever saw !!! Any Ideas how much its gonna cost on US market????

For me SonnyEricson and Motorola were the best, now when SonnyEricsson doesn't develope their own Bluetooth, and have some problems with handsfree units, MOTOROLA is the BEST!!!!

Will Motorola L7 have EDGE support? I see it was removed from the spec list. L6 still has EDGE listed though. Some websites report that L7 has EDGE other that it does not - anyone knows what is correct?

it says on this website teh battery life is only 140 hours standby and 140 minutes talk. the battery life of the L6 and L2 is about twice as good, even though they r almost the same phone. why is this so?

The Motorola L7 is really nice, isn't it. I wondered about the Name L7. I've so far known it under the name SLVR V8. Another country (I'm from Germany), another name? Who knows. The SLVR V280 has the name L6, too. Think of a better camera in the phone, it wouldn't be as flat as it will be. Would be the same as it is with the Motorola RAZR V3x. It'll have 2 MP, but it is so fat, it's not the same. I love my RAZR V3, but the V3x is much too fat. I think the V8 wouldn't be so thin, with a better camera it would be impossible to call it SLVR (sliver, not silver ;) ) any longer.

The L7 is definately coming very soon because all the large electronic stores are lowering prices of the V3 to clear their stocks for the L7.
By the way, the price of the black V3 is now the same as the silver one.

On the Vodafone website they have it coming soon in October.

This phone does look amazing, at the end of the day (unless its a PDA) a phone is their to send/revieve calls and messages, so rather than get a phone with all the mod cons on it, I would rather get one that looks the best :o)

The Carphone Warehouse UK website is still showing the name as SLVR V8 and they have only just added it to there site
