mykel, go to the shop that sells both the L7 n V3i n test it out( test the actual unit, not dummy-set) n then u decideds. V3i has better camera resolution, their internal memory is also low. n basically both are the same except that it is clamshell n candy-bar shape.

mykel, well, i do owned the L7 n i like it very much, thin n black in colour. downside is low internal memory n vga camera. not too bother bout camera as camera phone are just for taking snapshot picture, if i really want good resolution, i wud prefer to get a good digital camera, only the low memory is the cons. cant put full mp3's as ringtone, have to crop-it to 20seconds ringtone, only then we can save many mp3's as ringtone or sms alert or alarm.

that's sad... I am actually planning to buy a L7 in 2 weeks.. now, im having second thoughts... suggestion guys... should i buy a L7 or not? If not, can you suggest a good phone that has a reasonable price? I dont have big money. :( (by the way, thank you for answering my questions.. it helps a lot..)

mykel, sorry, have no idea when the improved version of L7 will be out in Asia. juz have to keep checking with the dealers or motorola.

mykel, check out the reviews for L7 n V3i(english). if you want to buy the L7, i suggest u wait for the improved version with i-mode, 60MB internal memory and if i m correct, 1.3megapixel camera.

pls mind your words, it is not rubbish bout the keypad light. when u have the top part of the phone pointing to a light source, the keypad doesnt light-up. point it to a dark spot or insufficient lighted area n ur keypad will light up. when u r outside during the day, it NEVERS light-up.
Henry, if you are reading this, pls tell the gentleman if my explanation is rubbish or true facts.

that is complete rubbish that the person said abt the keypad....it lights no matter what....lol! the keypad is alit in the light, but since its so bright...you just dont see it on....in the bright light, try covering it with your fingers...and look at it...it lighting!!! sometimes it just doesnt light when u press certain keys...u just have to press another key such as the "sideways" button

helo justtind,
there is nothing wrong with ur keypad, it has a light sensor. meaning if you r in a bright spot, it will never turn ON. only when u r in a dark area or insufficient lighted area will it be turn ON. If u dun trust me, go into any dark room, it will definitely be lighted. turn on the light, press any key, the keypad will shut-off.

Hi, I actually use a Motorla SLVR L7 that was bought at a Cingular Store. I have TMobile Service and Cingular Provided me with a Subsidy unlock Code so that I can use T-Mobile Service. I always have an ICON showing that I have a voicemail and it does disappear after I hear the voicemail. I also get a text message too. It all seems to be working okay for me.

defective keypad light the first few days. hardly ever turns on; how am i supposed to dial in the dark??? cingular usa provider. gonna go exchange it today. i like the phone, just hope it lasts long enough to enjoy.

it is actually depending on the telco, when a caller leave a voicemail for me, i will be alerted by a sms to call a certain number to retrieve the voicemail, i wont get the voicemail symbol.

I just bought an L7, whenever someone leaves me a voice message it somehow always displays a text message letting me know that I have a voicemail, no voicemail symbol appears!! really quiter annoying, can anyone tell me how to rectify this? thanks

Ok guys i have a question cause i'm stompped. The L7 supposibly only plays back and records on mpeg and most celly record on 3gp which makes it hard to send a video message from the L7 to (lets just say) a nokia like a 3220 or a 6230.. is there any way to install anything to get the phone to record or PLAYBACK in the more common 3gp format?

check out this website n have a good look at the picture. basically the l7 n v3i is almost identical, just taht 1 is clamshell n the other a candy-bar shape n v3 has better camera resolution in 1.3megapixel. both also has external memory.
