No 3.5mm jack no buy, 08 Mar 2023Don't care about eco friendly garbage. Having removabl... moreWell, you need to be able to listen to the opposing side to see if your position is valid or not.
Let's take it one at a time:
1. Removable battery. Phones will have to be thicker to accommodate this. Most removable batteries in phones never went over 1800 or 2000mAh. The reason why they are stuck inside now, is to prevent users from setting themselves on fire, as the batteries are malleable. Chances are you will stop getting software support way before the battery fails.
2. Headphone jack. This takes valuable space inside the unit. You can always use type-c or lightning earphones, or use an adaptor. They are inexpensive, and they can remain attached to the headphones themselves. Wireless headphones are quite decent, even the cheap ones. There is no reason to keeping beating this dead horse.
If you want manufacturers to obey your expectations, then band together with like minded people and either buy an existing brand's phone or ask them to build one for you. I am sure someone will do this, if the money is there.
One idea around this were Lego phones, or interchangeable components. This way not only that you can change the battery when it fails, or on the fly, but you can upgrade your SOC so you can continue to have the latest specs and software support. But these phones were not popular, and you will find out that most people that cry about these changes, like yourself, go and buy the same "unrepairable" phones like the rest of us.

CONVENIENCE is a word that people in GSMarena comment section have forgotten. They want to experience inconvenience just for newer and nicer looking technology. We want microSD card, headphone jack and removable battery for CONVENIENCE, not for being eco friendly, or not even for highest performance. Those features make our lives a lot easier and more CONVENIENT in many situations without any drawback on other useful features. Keeping them harms none but removing then harms some. So keeping them is the superior choice.

Absolutely fail of a phone. It's featured like a upper-midrange with cost of absolute flagships. Why this cost? Well, its a Think brand, supposed to have well thought, utility features and tools that those flagships don't offer, right? Ok, then where's headphone jack? Where's microSD card slot?
You're paying £/$/€500 more just for drop resistance which you can get with a £/$/€10 case!
A Zenfone 9 costs much less and you only lose drop resistance (fixed with a case), some battery (but compact) and 24hz refresh rate. Asus is also much better at fixing software bug than Motorola. It's beyond comprehension why someone could get this overpriced, thinkless phone instead.

Thank you so much for this review. have to lower my expectation, i thought with 8+ Gen 1 this phone will be in good camera experience not only the performance. Expensive but unique, i think i will buy Samsung Xcover 6 pro for my daily outdoor work, and keep my Pixel as my second driver specially for object detail at my work. Fiuuuh.... feel uncomfortable bring 2 phones in my pocket. Thanks again so much GSMArena Team. Good luck !

Ara......., 07 Feb 2023Camera on Xperia phones are really badThe more affordable Sony Xperia phone often are old back then cameras tech wasn't as good as it is now
All of the Sony Xperia phones look the same
Unfortunately they have added unnecessary extra camera too there latest phone
So yeah it's also possible the bad camera is one of the 4 camera and often what happens is one good camera 3 bad ones added
A fashion trend standard by Nokia 9 preview but what everyone else don't understand is on that phone all camera worked together as team
Plus tech industry didn't hesitate call it a gimmick um but now everything has 4 5 or 6 camera
Maybe there not the best but if fixation on camera a focus there are external 360 camera that plug into the headphone jack
Or just buy a actual professional camera

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2023ya i like sonyMe too
The Sony Xperia phone have the best screens
Also Sony only brand that keeps both the headphones jack and SD card slot
The way the every other brands is heading down Sony will have no competitor's soon in quality of screen
Every other brand brand butchers there screens with hole punch or notches a total no-go if you actually want a good screen
There used too be strong competition for beat screens
But only a handful of brands with acceptable build design quality left
Only Sony makes 4k 120hz screens and puts them on Sony Xperia phone
The only reasonable alternatives there's Asus Rog line so far so good 165hz 1080p good
Sadly Asus ZenFone 8 flip end of the road for there's phones
Where's the ZenFone 9 flip ??
Lenovo legion y90 was last Lenovo phone with good 144hz 1080p screen
Please make Lenovo legion dual 3 & Lenovo legion 3 pro please Lenovo
Nubia red magic 7s with 1080p 165hz screen last good phone by ZTE am care about privacy I also don't want a crappy selfie camera under screen camera just not good
Another noticeable difference advantage Sony Xperia phone has is the finger print scanner isn't under the screen either that I have heard can also hurt to viewing experience not too mention the storing your finger print in same database somewhere
