I got one. The screen and sound are amazing. The phone is small, light weight and feels great to use. However... There is no option of turning off the shutter sound (probably only available on the first firmware, I have R6632_G_81.11.29R). Also, it didn't come with a USB cable. Third, it can not install JAR files by itself. Apparently, Motorola OS phones need special software on the PC in order to install over a USB cable :(

How much did U get paid for bashing Motorola? U guys have to face the reality that Moto is the innovator of mobile phone.Moto invented vibration and Ur brand have to pay Moto for having vibration in their phone.

I just got this phone and it's absolutely fantastic. Feels great in your hand, the used materials are excellent, the screen is amazing, it's big, don't let the specifications fool you, the hinge is very fitting , the keypad is big and comfortable. A piece of art.
Right now the software is a bit slow but that's fixable as soon as the updates arrive.
Sound quality is SUPERB .. loud, great bass, sharp notes, clean, incredible. I've used the same bluetooth headphones on a Samsung (horrible) LG (decent) and this one, trust me , blows them away. The outer controls are a breeze, people WILL stare when you walk around with your phone controls showing . The UI is NEW and improved, trust me , I had a razr. Everything you want in a small package.
p.s. You can turn the camera shutter off ;-)

This phone lo0ks gr8 on the out side but when u open it. It you see a tiny screan and that horbel hinge witch is sad (the bigest put of by this moto u9) the out side is WOW but when u open it, it bad.
basicly i am saying a new 1 should have a biger screan 2.4inch or biger

The U9 has the shutter sound -- I think all Moto phones do. It's also usually a pretty standard hack to remove it.
It's a privacy issue so creeps can't sneak pics.

The shutter sound they add to some phones makes the whole experience of the phone terrible. I love the phone I have now, which does not have the horrible (and very lame) shutter sound. If the U9 has the sound (and it does not have the option to disable it) I will not buy the phone. I've asked repeatedly, but no one is answering. I'm beginning to suspect that no one here has actually bought one.

U9 DOES have Bluetooth. In fact, it has stereo Bluetooth which is great for music.

I bought this phone last week and i hated it the minute i started using it! Its so slow and just horrible!! No wonder its so cheap!! Gimme a Nokia any day!!!

soooooo pretty!!! i love this phone so much! im gonna look out for the pink or purple one. so gorgeous!!! btw no offense, but who always say bad things about motorola, you suck! dont brag about any other brand. they're not purrfect either. try to see from the good side! you cant make a good phone by yourself either! respect what these guys had made. its very pretty! =D good job moto.,

I always judge a phone by it's ability to take pictures silently. If the maker has added a silly shutter sound to it, the phone is too lame for me.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME: Does the U9 have a shutter sound (that can not be easily disabled) on the camera?
I have a V3im and that takes pictures silently. I also know that the K1 takes pictures silently.

guys guys guys!!! plz spare moto 4 a while... dis one is different... i have got one of these cute thing 4 my girl friend... it does not have a hinge like the Pebl but still it is cool... the outer body does not get scratched easily... it is supposed to have some kind of a laminate!!! the UI is decent and the screensavers on the outer screen are just awesome!!!
