Hi, thanks for your reply. I can play the mp3 files using the phone but when i go to settings, profiles, and then try to choose a mp3 ringtones, it doesn't list any of them. I also tried making the length of the mp3s to less than 30 seconds but to no avail. It only shows the preloaded .dcf tones. Do you think fido blocked this feature of the phone so that people can buy their ringtones?

Anonymous, 31 Dec 2008I have a rokr u9 through Fido. But it's not recognizing mp3... moreWere you able to listen to the MP3 songs through the music player? If so, try go to Setting -> Profiles -> Ringtone Line 1 and then select the MP3 file you want to set as ringtone.
Let me know if the problem persists.

I have a rokr u9 through Fido. But it's not recognizing mp3 files for ringtones. All the preloaded ringtones are in .dcf format. Any idea how i can use my own ringtones?

Anonymous, 28 Dec 2008which one is more worth to buy? v8 or u9?Both offer cleary voice quality as a flip phone with Crystal Talk. Major difference is U9 supports external memory card of up to 8GB (according to my own experience, it works), while V8 only has 2GB "internal" memory.
Then if you need a large external screen with photo caller ID, V8 is better than U9.

this phone pretty cool and all, but it freezes sometimes, and the volume automatically decreses on its own. i had to reset my fone everytime. oh and the fact that the headset and the charger uses the same port sucks.

Hello everyone, I want to buy this phone now that its price has fallen enough, mainly as a gadget and a second phone, I already have another device I am very satisfied with. So my question is: should I buy this as a gadget, is it any worth its money at all and secondly I'm a guy do you think this phone is too girly in black?

I played around with this beauty in the store and couldn´t manage to turn off the external display
animation (flames)- I tried for half an hour...
maybe I´m too stupid or it´s too hard without manual..

It almost blew me, since its sorta low in price for its external finish but having seen the PLASTIC keypads which looked way cheap. Thumbs down for that.

In HK where I live, all phones costing over US$100 come with cable and (wired) handsfree.
I've so many cables and headsets and after I saw how much they're being sold (separately) in US, I wish I can resell my extra units...even at half of the retail price in US!
