RIGHT! the phone hasn't hit the market so why can anyone rate this particular phone? This phone is made to work on a W-CDMA/GSM like the other Vodafone, so it won't be available in the US anyway. Maybe Verizon or Sprint? Who knows? Only time will tell so why all the battle about the looks, performance (which noone can tell)? As long as the phone works without any problem It's fine with everyone, I guess...... But, if the quality is like the V878, V300, V180, etc. THEN it will be a expensive piece if junk that's not even worth getting.

Guys, why are you fighting over a phone that didn’t come out yet, wait till the phone ships. For those unknowns and Motorola haters, I work for qualcomm, i’m an IC designer, we sell cdma chipsets for Motorola, Nokia and Samsung, technically it’s the same chipsets so you could say it’s the same phone. Same thing for GSM phones they’re almost identical these days, the only difference would be the antenna which might affect the reception. Most of those phones (Motorola/nokia) are built in china (in factories like foxconn) except for Samsung phones they are built in korea.
When it comes to features, Samsung sucks in other words they have no features, their phones looks okay.
As far as nokia, they have the most repulsive looking phones on earth, they need to do something regarding their candy bar looking phones. They lost almost 10% of the market share from last year because of that. They introduced couple of flip phones but they’re not as appealing as the phones from Motorola and Samsung.
Motorola were loosing share markets in the last 4 years not because the high field returns, all companies have high field returns but their phones (software and features) were horrible. In the last 18 months they made a big step and they introduced lot of new phones but they got hit again around xmas with the camera phones where they were short on supplies, and again they lost close to 1% market share. This year things are different and specially the 4th quarter they r introducing 20 new phones and I think if the sales go as Wall Street expects they might gain some share market.
Now when it comes to the 3G market, only two companies are qualified to be in that market, NEC and Motorola. The reason is they developed their own platforms and they are way ahead of any other company out there. Nokia is trying to catch up but Samsung is way behind. So when you want to trash a 3G phone like the V1000 compare it to a 3G phone not a GSM phone. I’ve seen this phone, I have a friend working on it at Motorola, it looks good, it does video streaming and when it comes to data rate it’s unbelievable. This phone might not see the light like lot of phones that get cancelled, so my advice don’t trash phones unless you’ve seen them and used them coz u guys sound like ignorants who had bad experience with a specific phones not knowing what the cause is and you think all the phones from that brand suck.

Motorola's share of the global handset market is further behind No. 1 Nokia at 31.3% and barely ahead of Samsung Electronics' 13.9% for the runner-up spot.

Motorola shares increased 51 cents, or 3%, to close at $17.18 on the New York Stock Exchange, up 23% this year but down from their June peak of $20.89.

                                        no.1
only if people have the eye to see all the outlook design while not going to have their brain to have a look at their oversea phone function.

lastly i juz heard of SAMSUNG is going to hv their phone to hv bluethooth is it a bit or maybe too late; tell u wat, try to download the jbenchmark to test ur proudly and extreamly happy to hv samsung e-700, and guess wat? u'll know which 1 is "CRAB" if u compare with the motorola phone.

                                        "from unknow
especially my mom is the big & clear number, complete & clear icons"

even a low end phone wif low resolution could do this easily

                                        "from unknow
Motorola do not even have an alarm clock icon!"

alarm clock icon?! not all phone need this function, also does this did a big deal?!?! such thing might fool a kid that by putting this little function it will make a phone hv more function

                                        no.2
pantech may have the look and the brillian screen but have u check its benchmark?! its juz extreamly outstanding and suprisingly low and the connectivity without bluethooth?! maybe it suit those people that didn't think at all and would like to spend money to hv it... for those who need pace to keep up their move will find out pantech phone is a turtle. do the same try to download the jbenchmark to test ur pantech phone. ops duno weather it can install or not anyway go on an try XD!

                                        no.3
well, sharp phone was 1 of my favourite also coz it hv most the latest function that is needed to be the 1st class phone. with all the function size is acceptable also could be the best phone brand from korea and japanese so far that open a wide selection and choice to the world. sharp hv my respect.

                                        no.4
1st i didn't say anything about samsung phone position, but wat i mention is that the korean and japanese hv the skill to copy the technology of anything |also include h/phone | ;) do make clear of that motorola or other phone is world wide, but japanese and korean phone is close to their area only, and they have their own programing and scripting languge that why it it only appear to have the super phone in their area only

well sure i hv seem that report before but it was an early 04' report, and it juz restimte that samsung might be the 3rd if their sale go throught as they think. but it might happen if motorola 1st line hp out late... hope not
