Luu I've been a cell phone sales person for years and I hate to say it but the worst phone that I have sold is Motorola. Why? I have the most returns on defective units and some doesn't even power up out of the box, brand new! (what an embarrasing moment in front of the customer...) I've never had problems with Sansung's and other Japanese brand and also Nokia's (although I hate the Nokia design nowdays). So from my experience and comments from other people, it tells anyone that Motorola is not making much of a quality equipment. Maybe a very high end Motorola phone (expensive) might be well made, but overall most of the Motorola phones for the past few years has been, well... "can't recommend to customers" because I don't want to be bothered with returns and angry customers asking me why such a brand new phone quits working in less than a month. I suggest getting something reliable, it might be a little more expensive than a Motorola, but in the long run you'll thank yourself for it. That's all I can say to you.

luu, maybe motorola came up with the first flip phone but now motorola flip phone is full of defective units like the v878! japanese phone is built solid with "quality" and don't cut corners that's why it lasts a long time. not like a cheap motorola phone that's dies just a few days later.

Luu, how long do you expect your phone to last? your lifetime?
I have been using my SHARP for almost two years & is still very reliable; although I am thinking of buying a new model (Definately Japanese phone).
By the way, my girlfriend is using a PANTECH G500, more than a year old & is still working great. My mom & my brother switched from Nokia to SAMSUNG E-700 & they are extremely happy with it (the screen is clear, function is friendly to use & most important for them...especially my mom is the big & clear number, complete & clear icons).
Motorola do not even have an alarm clock icon!

to luu: motorola was #1, when nokia appear, motorola became #2, now comes samsung, motorola is going to be #3 in 2005.

japanese and korean phone is great but with their design and weight it won't last to be the 1st class phone.
wat else, that the network in japan and korea r far beyond any network in the world, even they hv the best phone they only can use in their own country.
to those japanese and korean phone fan y dun go learn their language and go stay there?!
also, japanese and korean phone didn't last long, i mean not durable at all that can only keep 100% funtion in 3 months.

Motorola were the first on earth to design
clam shell phones!! All the other companies just copied them!!
Specaillly Samsung The copy cat king !!!

Hey unknown, for your information when Motorola was designing clam phones other companies were wondering how to get into the mobile market. And as good as u think nokia is, they have the worst designs ever. As for Samsung they were copying Motorola phones since they started shipping phone and by the way a Samsung phone wont last you more than a month.

yeah just a copy of another Japanese design. that's all motorola can do with cell phones
