Voice Dialing IS on there.. it is just a pain in the ass to set up… Here is how to access it….
Enter a telephone number or grab one already in your phone book… It must be saved to the PHONE and not to the SIM.
Highlight the phone number and press the MENU key (the one with the 4 lines on it)
Then select EDIT
Scroll down to the VOICE NAME then select that
Record the name
You are set
Here is how to voice dial (the standard way)
From the main screen, press the MENU key.
Select DIALING SERVICES
Voice dial will be in there
Ok, that was a lot of steps to voice dial each time, so this is what I did..
I was tired of having to press like 5 keys to voice dial… so I changed it so it only takes ONE key…
Press the MENU button
Go down and right to SETTINGS
Select PERSONALIZE
Select HOME SCREEN
Select HOME KEYS
Then what I did was I made my RIGHT key the Voice Dial key, but you can make any direction you want be that..
Now from the main screen, I just push the RIGHT button and say the name… works great.. hope this helped you out

Oh, by the way, thanks to a Chris, here is a quick way to copy all of the entries to the SIM.
1. Press the menu key [once]
2. Press the down arrow [once]
3. Press the right soft key [once]
4. Press the menu key [once]
5. Press the up arrow [five times]
6. Press the right soft key [once]
7. Press the down arrow [once]
8. Press the right soft key [once]
9. Press the down arrow [once]
10. Press the right soft key [once]
Then all your entries should be copied into your SIM. Hope that helps!
P.S. I did not complete the last step, since I did not want to transfer all of the entries back over to the phone and add in all of the additional information, so if anyone tries this and there is any sort of confirmation menu, please post. Thank you!

2. Press the down arrow [once]
3. Press the right soft key [once]

(You have transferred your first address book entry into your SIM card)
11. Repeat method starting with step 5 [for however many entries you have left.
Hope that helps!

Well, I just both this one and it is perfect! I follow the comments of MEex and I installed the Phone tools from the IsoHunt.com and everything it is working perfect... I recommend you to install the modem driver from the same package that you downloaded in isohunt.com in the folder "inf"
I would like to say that Motorola should allow people to download this for free, afterall, those phones are fckng expensive already. We should not pay more for the software. Thanks everyone!

I did what this guy said and everythign workid fine..my phone is locked and i used a USB from my dad digi cam:
i found mobile phone tools via isohunt.com...like everyone else, it still wouldnt work cuz i needed the driver. to fix the problem, i found the driver in the mobile phone tools directory. just go to control panel>system>device manager then choose the v180. choose update driver and point to the specific location of mobile phone tools directory...it should work if you have winxp for sure, not certain about other OS's.
GOod luck, hope it works for other..b

two address book related issues. i keep about 100 #s in my phone.
1) how do it grab #s from outlook or from my old phone? for instance, can address book entries be downloaded via the usb? or how about sim #s (a poor 2nd choice).
2) i tried copying address book entries to the sim for backup. but now they both show in the address book. so i've got two of each entry, yikes. is there some setting to view only address book entries??

I like mine, but I'd prefer a stronger feeling phone. Some of the newer phones are made of lightweight composite metals and very strong plastic, but the v180 seems like it can get cracks in it if you're not careful with it. I'd be afraid to drop mine onto a hard floor...

I have the unlimited internet browsing on the phone with Cingular, I was going to get SnapDial so I could connect my PC to the internet, which uses the phones browsing access, but then I learned that SnapDial doesn't support Cingular... Does anyone know how I can connecet through the internet with this phone and cingular? I remember reading something about how verizon phones can connect to thier low band or high band for internet access but i didn't see it for cingular... help please

Actually, voice dialing is included. Check page 64 of the user manuel for brief instructions on how to use it, but here is how to set it up.
While entering or editing an address book entry, first make sure you have selected the option to save the entry onto Phone, and not SIM. Then, one line below the "Store To:" option, there is "Voice Name:". If that line is highlighted, there will be a button to "RECORD". Click that to record the voice name for that entry. Again, check page 64 in the v180 manual for instructions on how to use it.
