The phone has the worst software I have ever seen in terms of usability. Everything is cumbersome and just plain stupid. It's impossible to customize most of the things, even simple ones like set different pictures for the external and internal screens.

i just got this fone..im still wondering how 2 put games on it..dont hv a micro sd for it..and in contacts it sometimes doesnt allow u 2 call or do anything in one of the contacts..so u hv 2 delete the contact and make a new one which is pretty anoying..does anyone know how 2 fix this?

I agree completely with gigi, the receipt of this telephone of "last generation" is really poor. The battery does not last what really should, and the external screen is just an accesorio of decorative character.

The cosmestic of the Motorola V3x is really awesome, which attracted my purchased.But other than the cosmetics it is really a great disappointment in terms of the functionality of the phone. Firstly,is the receiving strength which is extremely weak comparing apple to apple. Secondly is the automated cut off during conversation. Finally, it is a phone to be display rather than practicality.

Had my V3X for about 3 months now, not a problem so far.
Battery life is generally poor. I found if you charge it by the AC charger, wait until its full, and then unplug it and put it back on the charger, it charges some more, and have noticed that the battery does last longer if you put it on the second time.
I can also confirm that a 2GB Micro SD DOES NOT work in this phone. When you have it plugged in to your computer through the phone, it gets to about 950-960 meg and then refuses to copy any more files and gets CRC errors. It only can hold around 960 meg on a 2 GB card.
I thought my micro SD might have been faulty, but I copied files to it over 960 meg when i simply placed it in a card reader. What happenes if you put more that 960 meg on the card using a card reader, its simply doeas not read any mp3 files beyond the 960 meg mark. I had whole albums that just didnt even show up in my phone. I am therefore getting a new 1 gig card and all will be good.
So all in all, very pleased with the phone, but battery life could be better, but i hear all 3g phones are pretty poor.

My pink motorola V3x was stolen on the weekend and I'm trying to decided if I should get a new one. Generally the phone worked well and was user friendly. However it would be fine for a couple of months and then begin to freeze, reset itself due to no service or just turn itself off (all of which would happen excessivley for a couple of weeks then be fine again). I spoke to a consultant and they said that there are softwear updates available to fix such problems. Interestingly the consultant said that the pink phone was intitially mass produced with software problems. The blue and the orange phones have not had as many problems. Has anyone else found this to be the case?

Just bought this phone and i really like it. Had a sharp gx10i before it and the motorola makes it look like an antique. Only annoying bits are the magnification on x4 and x8 are not that good.

well i dont know why everyone is complaining. I dont have any resetting issues, the text messaging is incredibly efficient. it keeps up with fast texting and its brilliant. cant think of a bad thing to say about this phone, bright, yes battery isnt GREAT but its sufficient. The bluetooth works fine...

All I can say is its a complete heap of crap. I've had it for a year now. The bluetooth (which originally was rubbish and slow) stopped working after about 6 months. The speaker is VERY quiet. The phone occasionally crashes and resets at the slightest knock.

I had my V3X for not even a day before I began to have issues. My phone turned itself off and refused to turn itself back on. So I got a second phone - this next one refused to work with bluetooth. Sending or receiving a file would make the phone reset itself. I had it repaired no less than SEVEN TIMES in the first six months before my carrier finally let me off and gave me a new phone. I work in mobiles sales and we get at least one of these back a day. They have poor battery life, a day or two at best; the software is rubbish - full of flaws and bugs; and as a whole package, they are not worth selling.
On paper, yes, they have good features and if they didn't have so many software issues and battery life then they would be great. I had a E398 before this that never had a problem - oh motorola - where did you go so wrong?

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. i have had so many problems with it.
1. Freeze while im typing a sms
2. when i use multi tap, i press 2 keys and 3 leters come up
3. Sometimes in a sms i move the arrow to correct a word, and it wont let me go back to the end of the word.
3. Doesnt display missed calls
4. It wasnt sending any messages in my out box for 1 week, i needed to reset the phone for it to do so. Then it sent 300 messages all at once..
5. Do you need any more reasons? i have a few more
