I've been using this phone for more than a month now and i love it. I will continue to use it until it stops working and gives up on me. The ringtone volume is perfect, but sms typing is slow, but i got use to it. Amazing phone over all. Fell from me from higher than waist hieght more than 4 times and still is working amazingly.

Yes indeed its a very very cool n nice phone, especially in this price range...
Voice quality is superb, very stylish, nice display.
Only flaw--Battery life is not good. I'm an average user( not playing any games, just 10-15 sms per day n about 30 min of talking), my battery lasts about 1.5day n its only been a month that i,ve bought this phone.
other than this its totally value for money.
Also its doesn't hav IF or bluetooth....

Hi, Greetings to all, i bought this fashionable mobile on 09-11-2006 for Rs4000 in South India. I’m here to share my data with you guys out there thinking of buying this. Here goes…

                        1. The color display is good, but small compared to standard size for the price. But screen suited for the mobile design.
                        2. The W220 is less wide and less tall than V3 Series, 90% almost identical!
                        3. The battery lasts for minimum 2-2.5 Days on normal usage (Without vibrate).
                        4. Usage of GPRS may results in 1.5-2 days of battery life.
                        5. The incoming call volume is great.
                        6. The incoming call volume while using headset is great.
                        7. The Call beeper is so loud (Certain tunes), great attention grabber!
                        8. The sms tones are good but are limited to 5 pre-set available.
                        9. The Vibrate is pretty good.
                        10. One touch for instant silent mode for “#” key.
                        11. You can send sms to multiple people in one go.
                        12. My average battery charge time is 3 hours for empty condition. (Each bar takes approx 1 hour to charge!)
                        13. Can set mobile to attend calls on Any-key, Auto answer with Headset or while opening flip.
                        14. Headphones are of great quality.
                        15. By using Radio with mobile’s speaker, losing a bar of battery is common.
                        16. Mobile’s speaker is not loud enough when used for radio.
                        17. This mobile does not have hands-free feature for calls!
                        18. After recharge, fiddling with the mobile for not less than 1-2 hours a day and still it shows full battery for a 65K color screen is a surprise itself.
                        19. NO MP3 or MP3-like, purely midi, Polyphonic and I-melody & Nokia tone support.
                        20. Can send (MMS) and receive tones, also have melody composer.
                        21. Grouping of contacts is available with “unique tone” setting available.
                        22. So far no problems with Network, GPRS & call dropping tests.
                        23. It supports message delivery notification like Nokia.
                        24. It vibrates and Rings simultaneously.

                        Comments:

Buy “Black version” of this model, the money is very much worth than the silver one which looks like plastic made I guess. Everyone dropped their jaws the first time they saw my W220 (Black) when I showed them which co-incidentally looks like V3. I can bet that I will use it for 1-2 years.

Nice simple phone, does what it's supposed to and has some neat features, but also not without its flaws.

The external icons are very handy - much better than any external screen (which are often overcomplicated and difficult to see). The phone feels very well-built and sturdy, whilst also being very small. Slightly rubbery texture (at least on the black) gives good grip. Battery life is also surprisingly good.

The radio seems to be of equal or better quality than other phones with FM radio, but is a pretty pointless feature where I live as radio is scattered and not worth listening to anyway. It may be more useful in other countries.

On the downside, texting is slow - T9 cannot keep up with button presses and will fail to register some presses if you get too far ahead of it. This is a fairly major flaw, but it is the only one.

Other minor niggles include the "Active Line" logo which stays displayed at all times despite the fact that my SIM only supports one phone line. Also, and this may be limited to certain networks, but when I request my balance via the SIM card menu all I receive is a random mix of digits and letters. Obviously not a problem if you phone a number to check your balance, but just thought I'd mention it.

Overall, a decent phone for those who don't want unnecessary features, but let down by slow texting response. If a phone's going to stick to keeping it simple, it needs to do the simple things really well... and the W220 doesn't quite make it.

                                @ Kerrie
Stated in the spec sheet is 32 channels polyphonic ringtones. So, as long as MOTO provide a phone with tht spec, everything is fine. The reason u so disappointed is because of ur high expectation over this cheap sleek device.
Ur older phone might have the mp3 ringtones n sound very nice as well. But, is it as good looking as this? Is it as cheap as this?

To SID: i did not in any way complain about the mp3 ringtones, i complained about the sound quality of the phone in general. i knew it didn't take proper mp3 ringtones before i bought it, although i must admit i hoped that the "mp3-like" ringtones for this phone where good enough to pass as mp3, but that is not the case at all sadly. These "mp3-like" ringtones they speak of are just .amr files which have been around for years and are fuzzy extremely bad quality songs. They falsely advertised that my calling them "mp3 like" because they're not. Even the polyphonic ringtones are terrible quality, why is this? whats the point in having a phone if you can't bear to listen to it ring. All phones should have good sound quality. Also it doesn't matter what make my phone is, the point is that its a lot older then the w220 but still has mp3 ringtones (great quality i might add)

FM's are always stereo. this model comes with stereo head set too. now you can buy it without a second thought.

it is simply stylish.. if your service provider provides a cheaper access to the GPRS technology then it is worth buying it..battery is very average. they should have included an ir jack atleast.. its a basic color fone in disguise..
