What is the point of buying the Xoom 2? The original Xoom is basically the same but is a lot cheaper.

Disappointing, not much change in the hardware, could have been better if they had added a network option.

When its encoded using x264 and put in an mkv container, the mkv file size is usually 10-15gig.
I have all six Star Wars movies in 1080p and they are 14gig each

You need to do your homework on the difference between '1080p' and 'micro 1080p'.

i am from India.
this xoom2 does not have call and sms option.
why can't u add it in.
if i buy this xoom2 then i need to buy separate phone for voice call.
think this before release the xoom2 into market.

This will be hot for sure. Original xoom was really good...especially when its rooted and they do play hd movies really good and from my experience is better than ipad...just more expensive. xoom 2 will be a hot buy.

the thickness and weight is like the ipad 2, the original xoom is much heavier and thicker

OMFG,it cannot... morea 1080p movie uses between 10-16 gig anyway so why would anybody want to use that amount of storage on a tablet for 1 movie?
Also the screen is only 1280x800 so watching a 1920x1080 movie on it is pointless unless u plan on using the hdmi out.

I have the original xoom and I don't want this one. What's the big deal, the difference in processor speed is so small that I'm not gonna see the difference and a front camera that has been donwgraded. I was at least expecting a quad core for the xoom 2 and a 8 MP camera in the back and the same 2 MP in the front. My next tablet will be an ASUS.

@anon: lmao, its really a different processor just because of a o.2ghz different? Learn to read before you lol at intelligent responses. Same processor clocked higher, just so you understand what I'm talking about.... please facepalm.

They did change the processors.. The previous version was 1Ghz. This one is 1.2Ghz. Obviously there is a change..

I've been comparing the specs, and i can say i'm disappointed.. they didn't change the processor, xoom 1 is great, but still, this is xoom 2. Another thing, they downgraded the front camera. Xoom 2 is supposed to be an upgrade from the previous xoom right?
