After using the V3i for 3years found this ZN5 a bit of a challange! (being an older user!) But after a long weekend and a stiff thumb I have now fallen in love with it. Thanks to the young lady @ O2 for recommending it.

i dont know what you would consider cool-looking head phones, but ill give you my opinion. the microphone on them looks pretty good and useful. the ear buds look something like this http://ww1.prweb.com/prfiles/2006/10/24/460394/webiHearSafeEarbuds.jpg but they are all black.

alright guys i got this phone three days ago and i decided to give you my own little review of it. lets start with the outside. it seems to be built very well and it feels good in your hand: not too big not too small. i think that it would be able to sustain some body damage and still work great. the screen is big, allowing you to see more detail when it comes down to pics, wallpapers, etc. when it comes down to the camera - it is fenominal. it takes amazing pictures, but of course it has a crappy video recorder. the the layout is similar to other motorolas(of course) but it looks very organized(for the ones who like to organize forlders themselves it is very easy to do so). talking on the phone is great - loud and clear with very little background noise. one of the most important things for me is the battery life. so far it good. it lasted two days of average amount of calls, about 110 text messages, 10-15 pics and of course setting up the phone to my standards.
feel free to ask me any other questions that you might have.

Though I am happy with the phone's performance, I am facing a problem. Is anyone else having the same? Every time I use the camera and want to either save or discard the photo, the phone shuts down and resets. I have taken it to the Moto Service Center and await a reply. I was just wondering if it is just me or someone else? Feedback appreciated.

                          Review: Motorola ZINE ZN5
                          07-11-2008

                          Final conclusion
We cannot do anything else than state that the Motorola ZINE ZN5 is the best camphone on 5 megapixel area at this moment. The device scores excuisite on the functions it should score on. A big failure is the lack of 3G support. This is somewhat made up for by the WiFi support. Despite the lack of 3G support the entire feeling about this device is very positive. Because the device scores on the points it should score on, we cannot do anything else than reward this device aith an 8. If 3G support would have been present the device would have received a 9 as final mark. If Motorola can come with more devices of this qualitative calibre, the difficult time that Motorola is going through at the moment is a pastime in our opinion...

Stuart, 26 Nov 2008I saw the H15 in the internet few months ago but unfortunat... moreActually the main reason for me to get Moto's Bluetooth head is very simple: I get an extra charger and I don't need to carry an extra charger wherever I go!

I just paid US$126 for my H15, so not likely I'd pay US$100 for H780, which is available in HK now.

Here is my "Moto Bluetooth" collection:

HT??? (probably the 2nd one by Moto, forgot model number, but not the flip one)
                              HS820
                              HS830
                              HS850
                              H5 (lost)
                              H350
                              H700 (used by wife)
                              S705 (used by wife)
                              H375
                              H710
                              H9
                              H15

Also have T305 & T505 in my car (one in US and one in HK)

Should Moto give me an award?

100 Moto, 26 Nov 2008I'm just sharing like some (wish I can say many!) of us her... moreI saw the H15 in the internet few months ago but unfortunately at the time of purchase of my H12, that's the highest range they have. Bought it for USD 80 since I got to know some Motorola guys (after calling, checking, complained a little and warranty claims for my earlier phones). H12 too is very good, I also read about the reviews about H12 that's not really performing well from CNET but I went ahead and purchased it anyway. Didn't regret the decision and somehow the review didn't do this headset any justice at all. Like your H15, people I talked to didn't know I was on a bluetooth headset at all until I asked them how's the voice quality and told them I was on headset. Most people were impressed. I guess if I'm using Motorola phone, why not use its bluetooth headset too. Paired with V8 & E8, the voice quality were excellent. If you notice from one particular review in the CNET forum, there's one particular guy said it actually outperformed Jawbone which he's used before and is supposed to be the "best" if not one of the best among headsets. I'm looking at H780 now for my next upgrade, the specs are good but not much reviews yet. If you're a bluetooth headset geek like me who talks only using bluetooth headset for most of the time, look out for this clip in youtube under ivoice pro bluetooth headset (it's actually Jawbone's first generation headset) - it's really impressive.

                                    Thanks for your feedback.

Stuart, 25 Nov 2008Crystal Talk is good technology, agreed with you on the nee... moreI'm just sharing like some (wish I can say many!) of us here with their experience.

A bit off topic to Crystal Talk. From other reviews I read the H12 Bluetooth headset doesn't perform as good as it promises. So as a die-hard Moto fan I didn't get one.

Nah. I better confess I wasn't too fond with the design of H12...

Recently I bought the H15 Bluethooth headset, at near US$125, it costs as much as many low-end Moto phones in HK. As though I haven't really tried H12, I spoke to my friend with my H15 and he said it was as clear as with my other phones with Crystal Talk. The only problem with H15 is the earpiece has some kind of auto adjustment...which defaults the volume to low (so to cause less damage to the ear) where I almost always have to manually change it back to loud.

Moto is also generous enough to make Crystal Talk almost standard on all of its phones (except OEM ones like VE538).

My father in-law's W270 is working fine, so is my mother-in-law's V191, so is my mom's W510. Though I'll likely to get a EM330 (known as EM28 in GSM Arena) as a backup.

Of course I can't wait for some soon to be released Moto phones like Atila...

Unfortunately, many people nowadays judge a phone's performance by its "camera"...more than the ability to provide clear voice communication...and many would spend much more $ and sacrifice other features just for the cam...

Really can't understand, to take some good photos, why not get a Canon G9/G10? Or Ixus 85/90 for ladies? What's the big deal about the cam on any phone when none can have the performance of any DC?

BTW, I own a Zn5 but I seldom take any photo with the phone, as I appreciate its other functions much much more.
