cellmania, 15 Sep 2008hey stuart, r u an administrator of this site? u sure hang ... moreHey thanks man for your compliment. No, I'm definitely not an administrator for this site but I am for sure trying very hard to "administer my personal pockets". (LOL) and the ZN5 is trying to drain them dry..(LOL). Sorry for my dry sense of humour.

You're right, we guys here looked at ZN5 and its comments, majority are quite good therefore we can consider this a hit. But try moving on to some other new phone model sites, you probably find similar responses from their die hard supporters, maybe not all. That's why different people, different taste, different currencies, different needs. Have you watched the ZN5's review in youtube? The way they used the ZN5's camera to create a panorama shot was quite amazing.

So my objective for "hanging around" here is to learn and at the same time to share with others, something I wished someone would have done back in those days when I started choosing phones - the time when I don't even know many things about phone features, GPRS sounded like a moon for Jupiter, bluetooth only exist in dental clinics, imagine that. (LOL)

Let's see how the ZN5's progress in the near future from independent sites and magazines reviews. I got a feeling this is going to be good.

I went to see ZN5 today. it looked ok. to this point i am in no position to say whether it is good or to comment on the new LJ platform. But, hey just look at the attention this ZN5 is getting here in this forum. like it or not, this phone is a hit.

This ZN5 will be my next upgrade when it's available in my country. I'm using E8 now, (previously used V8 & Z3) loved the Motorola's built, Linux, CrystalTalk and sound quality. Bonus for me would be the 5MP camera & xenon flash, Wifi. 3G? Not going to miss it.(for me)

Cheers & good day to everyone.

MacLee, 14 Sep 2008Hey, can anybody tell me how the texting work? like does a ... moreYup, MacLee, it utilizes numeric keypad like ROKR E8 so if you are looking for keyboard, it's not available in ZN5. However, the ZN5's keypad is similar (not exactly the same) to E8's, the difference is that in ZN5's you can actually see the numbers 1 to 9 when the phone's off but in E8, you can't see them (hidden in the dark background if not in use, cool feature if you like it). Both still utilizing the morphing keypad design, means the numeric keypads will light up when you want it. So for camera use, only the camera control bittons are lighten up to be used.

HSDPA- High Speed Downlink Packet Access. Lol my SE K850 is even better than the ZN5. You see SE makes devices that are a joy to use. With HSDPA on my K850 i can download a 7mb mp3/file in under a minute. Wi-Fi is not even that fast on phones and hotspots in most countries want to charge you. The SE K850 is also shorter, more compact, and far better looking. SE installed a PSP-type media manager. The K850 also has an accelerometer for UI Auto Rotation in Multimedia apps, as well as a beautiful screen with an amazing UI thats moddable. The only thing ZN5 has over a K850 is Wi-fi bt with unlimited data plans and HSDPA the K850 is at an advantage. Also it has amazing build quality, it records videos at QVGA 30fps and has a 3-Led set up for focusing to help the Xenon flash, K850 is better.

Do you still think that HSDPA is useless? HSDPA is to mobile phones what ADSL is to PC's. Maybe you think that the world doesn't need ADSL and that dialup internet is sufficient!

Stuart, 14 Sep 2008I really want to apologize to you as I've just counted that... moreI have owned ALL the high-end Motorolas since 1994. And I mean ALL! The V9 was the most recent. And I have enjoyed the vast majority of them. So much for my "hatred" towards Moto. Now they have going the wrong direction and they don't seem to realize it. Instead, they are still trying to find victims who will pay hard-earned money for their overpriced, paleolithic products. I, for sure, am not one of them!

Rest assured that it won't be long before you'll be wiping your tears over memories of a ruthless multinational company! How pathetic!!!

I just realized - from your encoded location which is the same. My apologies are not for my comments, instead they are for my multiple ways of replying you that when the others read them, I feel sorry for you, hence, my apologies. I just hope you don't post further comments the way you have been posted them as you'll probably get more people coming after you the next time.

I fully agreed with you on freedom of speech. Everyone's entitle to their own opinion and speeches. Hope you understand that the problem with your earlier "freedom of speech" comments were largely due to the manner they were written & presented, something I'm sure will improve thru time. Just don't be too offensive to some brands and be more gentle with your choice of words will do. All of us here are not enemies, we don't even know each other before coming to this forum so why "stimulate" the situation if it used to be calm, relax and fun?

You and your Nokia, Sony Ericsson or Samsung phones may have the technology, but Motorola outsmarts them with sheer design, call quality, build quality and range of phones. Not everyone understands HSDPA after all.

Spell out HSDPA, what it means, and what is its importance to the world if you can. I dare you.
