MWC 2011: Samsung overview
MWC 2011
Samsung Galaxy S players Wi-Fi 4.0 and Wi-Fi 5.0
We had a chance to play around with the Galaxy S Wi-Fi multimedia players. The Wi-Fi 4.0 is the multimedia-only sibling of the ex-flagship Samsung Galaxy S, previously known as Galaxy Player.
The Galaxy Wi-Fi 5.0 is a hot off the oven and features a much larger 5-inch screen as its name suggests.
Samsung's Galaxy S Wi-Fi 5.0 is essentially an Android tablet. And it acts like one too. It features a 5-inch WVGA touchscreen, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, and a 5 megapixel camera.

Both devices have white back panels.

The Samsung Galaxy S Wi-Fi 4.0 is the previous version and the pioneer of the Galaxy Player concept. It features the same 5 megapixel camera, processor but a slightly smaller 4-inch display.
The Galaxy S was a great success for Samsung but the Wi-Fi 4.0 didn't seem to be such a market-hit. But Samsung are obviously intent on producing them to rival the iPod Touch. Specs-wize you could say they have a great chance.

The Wi-Fi players are both running on Android 2.2 Froyo, though we think Gingerbread is a likely next move, at least for the Wi-Fi 5.0.
