Native version of Opera Mini for Windows Mobile just launched
Opera Mini now speaks Windows Mobile-ish! In other words, the platform now enjoys a native version of the Opera Mini 5 web browser. Up until now, WinMo users needed Java support, but that's no more.
After Skype ditched support and development for their WinMo native app, Opera are going the other way.
The Opera Mobile 10 beta has been out there for a few months but the Mini version has several advantages that make it worth downloading. The Opera Mini 5 for WinMo, just like its Java-based sibling, compresses the data traffic by up to 90 percent which results in zippier page loading and lower browsing costs.
So, the big news here is the newly launched native version of Opera Mini 5 beta for Windows 5- and 6-based devices. To download it (for free), just type m.opera.com/next/ in you handset's web browser.
