i've tried this opera mini 5 beta for winmo, its work like a charm.. fast and slick.. but there is one thing bugging me, i have to use my numeric key portion to input text like non qwerty phone while my phone is a qwerty phone... what a bug.. sure this can be an easy fix if i got acces to the code.. =)

FYI, for those who say landscape doesn't work, it DOES work. With my HD2, I have to use BSBTweaks application to add the native mini to the auto rotation so when I rotate the phone, the application will also rotate (portrait to landscape and vice versa). I don't know why Opera removes the setting for manual landscape though.

It is waaaaay more faster, and as said uses way less ram, also its always connected (not optional) to the Opera Mini Server so there is the reason of the speed, but also the chance to let know your navigation habits.
Anyways, its a better product than Opera Mobile.

I have just downloaded Opera Mini 5 beta and used it for a few minutes. Looks really nice. However, I encountered a problem right away. I want to use a locally stored HTML-file as my start page, but Opera Mini will not accept that (Opera Mobile and Internet Explorer do).
Has anybody tried this and succeeded with it?

Opera mobile hardly runs on any hardware and is a major resource hog

The difference between Opera Mini and Opera Mobile is that Mini uses less RAM than Mobile. Other than that, none. Opera Mobile surely can render web pages similar to desktop while Mini compresses the webpage optimized for mobile viewing. Both have kinetic scrolling, qwerty support and can switch to landscape mode.
I love Mini more than Mobile.

Good stuff indeed, but what's that good for, if it doesn't have screen rotation nor multitouch -.-

yes i can confirm to that. my omnia pro b7330 is doing the same, keypad issues. but my dopod c730 is doing well with it. anyways, it's still a beta version, a lot of good things are still to come for opera mini winmo!

don't see the point of this. Opera MObile 10 beta already had a Opera Turbo option which is reportedly the same functionality as what Opera Mini offers.

David, 04 Mar 2010I'm using Windows Mobile 6.5 now. If I install this, will I... moreYou can even install Beta versions of Opera Mobile 10 and still have the old default Opera browser on your phone. At least that's how it works on my HTC Touch HD - Opera Mobile and Opera Mobile Beta are dealt as two different programs.

Awesome, just tried it out and Mini is a lot faster than Mobile with basically the same functions. Opera Mobile has rendering more similar to normal desktop browsing though but Mini has a lot less bugs and issues. For once browsing is fast and fluid without any major issues, just like it should be. Now if they'd only add Flash support and we'd have the ultimate mobile web browser. I guess Sky Fire will have to do for Flash content until then.
And remember to try the desktop PC version of Opera Browser! :)

Just wondering why Opera made a native version of Mini while WinMo users are already covered on their Mobile version both Touch and Keypad versions.
