I like it most of the time, has lots of functions and a decent picture quality, but there are a few annoying things about it:
- audio and video recording limited to 1 minute, even though I have plenty of memory space. Hey, I want to record lectures on my phone, not just "Hello!" MMS messages.
- when the screen backlight is off, you can see nothing. I have to push a button just to check the time.
- Talking about time: the clock display is so tiny and has a poorly-designed font that I often confuse 16:26 with 18:28.
- the keys are shaped in such a way that it is easy to push the wrong one.
- the lettering on the keys is not very well visible.
- couldn't find a way to make the keyboard to self-lock itself when not in use;
- with a phone this big, why is the microphone so close to the speaker? What was the idea behind puttin the mic just under the screen instead of on the lower end of the set, under the keys?
- with my network (ERA in Poland) I have not been able to use this phone's GPRS. For whatever reason, service people can't configure it. This is why I have to get another phone. I am told the e228 works fine on other networks in Poland. So before you buy one of these, make sure it is compatible with your network.

i need help people! i have a nec e228 nd it seems lyk a good fone but dont no wat to do to download nything on to it! plz help me!

Not a bad phone, I just dont know how to save the battery life by turning the backlight off after a short period.
I have followed the instructions but it will not work.

I want to use a recorded soundtrack or music as my ring tone. Its however difficult since i've misplaced my manual together with the other kits.Please send me a step by step manual to help me do that. Iam counting on your co-operation. My phone is e288(nec).

hello. In my opinion is kinda good phone, not very good, but good. I have one problem where can i find the software for it: drives and the software for it to upload from the pc to the phone..pls help me!!alpiner@walla.com

I will be very greatful if anybody could help me with the drivers for using Nec e228 with the USB cord. I have the cord but i don't have the software (drivers) to either download or upload kindly help me out.
